My name is Joni and I AM an alcoholic/drug addict. I go to AA and NA at least 7 times a week. I've been clean for 2 1/2 years. I am clean and sober by the Grace of God. I have an awesome sponsor. I read the Big Book, the Basic Text, etc. I help others. I share my experience, strength and hope. I can only keep what I have by giving it away. Thanks for asking.

God Bless.

Yes. Yes, I'm sober. Been to AA in the past and not planning on going back. I go to our church's equivalent of AA called "Celebrate Recovery." I take medication for a Bipolar 2 condition I've been recently diagnosed with.

I pray to God to stay sober.

Also, I enjoy being here on Yahoo!Answers and instant messaging folks and relating to everyone.

My mother is. The one thing that keeps her sober is my father. She was tired of him telling her she did something wrong while she was drunk. Her last straw though was when she came home one night and was really mean to me and my siblings. She couldn't imagine what she had become. My mother has not had a drink for almost a year now.

I'm not an alcoholic, but I heard the drug topamax is sometimes used for treatment in alcoholics. I.m taking it for migraines and I can barely finish a beer when I go our with my friends. I just don't have a desire for it when I'm on this drug. It's good for mood disorders too and nerve pain too. Ask your doctor.

I am an admitted 'Problem Drinker'.

This means I drink to avoid my problems....and I somehow manage to show up at work most days.

AA has the highest success rate of any program. You don't have to go it alone.
