Does Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Janet Jackson, Katie Holmes, Sandra Bullock, Liz Hurley, or Marisa Tomei ring any bells???? The answer is YES. All of these gals at one time or another.......and some regularly do this to their locks! Go for it friend. From soft wheat, to any shade in the red family depending on how wild you wanna be. Some even go to the burgundy shades too. Personally I like the soft wheat color. No harsh reds, and an all over sun-kissed look. (When it's done right.)

Depending how dark brown your hair is (almost black)....a dark red or even a vibrant red can look remarkable! If you have a dark brown that isn't as dark as you think it is (usually it isn't :o) then some lighter brown pieces a few shades lighter than your natural shade or even caramel colors. Go to a stylist, because this can be difficult. You do it at home, and you will be brassy!

Try two different colors, like a caramel and then one a little bit lighter so you end up with a less striped look.

caramel tones highlights--think, mariah carey-- look natural and complement light brown skin. stay away from reds, depending on your skin tone they could look bad.
i would consider piecy highlights, concentrated on the front part and not too chunky.

lighter brown highlights, but not in chunks, just little subtle streaks of it so that it looks naturally done by the sun
