Wow. This really is a good laugh. I am a Catholic seminarian, and the lies that these non-Catholics are taught is amazing! Talk about being taught how to hate! For example, Catholics DO NOT pray to statues of the Blessed Virgin. This is a lie. And who said that Catholics were Christians until Martin Luther's 95 Theses? It was Luther that changed, not the Church! The Bible + Much Stuff = Preaching another Gospel? Has that guy even read the Bible? The very last verse of the Gospel of John states: "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen." If, by this man's very definition, the Gospel itself says to preach "other Gospels," then I'd rather get the whole truth than whatever it is he think he knows! The Catholic Church is the FULLNESS of Christianity!

Think what you want.

Through history, the catholic church has absorbed and adopted paganism until almost all characteristics of christianity have been hidden.

Admiration of "relics" is little more than idol worship....paganism
Praying to saints--- praying to dead spirits...paganism
the pope claims to be god on earth--- false god....paganism
Pennance--- salvation by works.... paganism
indulgences--- buy your way to heaven.....paganism

Jesus said "call no man 'father'. but this is the title for every priest.

The whole idea of giving money to a priest to say a mass for a dead loved one just so that person can get into heaven is unscriptural.

Peter was not the first pope. Look at the original languages. "Peter" means a pebble. The rock that the church was built on is a cliff. There is a big difference.

God never commanded his people to torture those who believe differently until they recanted and then killed them. God commanded the Israelites to kill everyone who was a citizen of an idolatrous nation because his mercy for them had ran out. He hasn't done that since he rejected Israel from being his chosen people.

God never uses lieing, stealing, deception, fraud, murder or any other evil method for gaining converts as the ccatholic church had done and is still doing in more subtile ways.
The whole confessoinal system goes against the way that Jesus told us to deal with the wrongs that we have done and that have been done to us.

The catholic church upholds the traditions that it has adopted as being higher than the scriptures. That is what the protestant reformation was all about. It was about returning to the truth adn turning away from apostacy.

I hope that you are laughing pretty good by now because it is all true. Now that I have said that, I do admit that the catholic people are very nice people. It is the system that is at fault, not the individuals.

Oooo.. it's an "us" vs. "them" argument! Woohoo... at least this time, it's Catholics vs. Christians and the atheists get to sit and watch the idiocy and hatred from the sidelines.

Catholics were Christians LONG before any of these "born again" denominations... like others have said, read a book, do some research. They do not WORSHIP Mary or the Saints. They ask Mary and the Saints and Jesus to intercede on their behalf (knowing that God is really busy casting "true" Christians to the bowel of hell for outcasting the Catholics... LOL!).

The Pope does NOT claim to be God on earth... that's just assinine. He is the interpreter of God's law, period. Next...

And to those who have been "born again," what do you think Baptism is? I was born and then a few months later, I was born again when I was baptized. I don't need to do it again as an adult because, really, I did it right the first time. Sorry, but being "born again" no more makes you a Christian than passing out tracts makes you intelligent.

I am a former Catholic, so I do know what they believe and that is why I left the church years ago. Catholics are in a cult (look up what a cult is and that is a perfect description of Catholicism). Many former Catholics feel cheated because they never learned much about the Bible, spirituality, a real relationship with God, etc. I suggest you do as I did and as many others have done and look elsewhere for real Christianity, you won't find it with the confines of Catholicism. Any religion that treats women that bad, you know is a cult!

Catholics are Christians. As long as the core tenets of the Christian faith are upheld and the other practices do not conflict, then you are a Christian.

I personally do not care for the structure or some of the teachings of the Catholic Church, however I also don't care for some of the teachings of the Baptists (particularly eternal salvation). I believe the denominations are here as communities where you can worship God in a like manner with others. Some prefer the pentacostal, while others prefer sedate teachings of the Methodists.

As long as you honor God and do not go against His teachings, then it is all good.

Personally, I believe that Catholics put too much emphasis on tradition. Also, I don't believe in a church hierarchy. The Bible says that each church should stand alone (so the waywardness of one can't infect the lot). How do you pray to a man or ask a man to mediate your confessions to God. Jesus is the mediator. Not Mary. Not IL PAPA. Second of all, just believing that you're going to go to heaven won't get you there. Time and time again, Jesus speaks of repentance. There are many more issues, but I really don't want to get into them. Although I do believe there are Christians in the Catholic Church, but they were saved the same way I got it or not at all.

Catholics are Christian. The difference is that Jesus taught we can go directly to him for forgiveness and help. I believe the Catholic Church teaches that we must go through the priest. I understand they also believe the Pope is equal to God. I can not find that in the Bible, however, God loves Catholics and many will be in heaven along with some protestants and others from all walks of life and religion.

I was Catholic, then I grew up and figured a few bits and pieces out... now I'm agnostic.

Btw, Catholics are definitely a sect of chistiany... I just hope you know that "Catholicism" was created for the illiterate, uneducated masses during its inception as a control tool... religion has always been a tool of control for those who have power... at least the western ones... eastern religions are much more about self-introspection and an understanding of nature, however, they have been used as well for control...

A great American once said, "Those who have power, always, when they can, increase it."

Why do you think they call religion, "the opiate of the masses"...

Make up your own mind about things, don't let anyone ever just tell you whats right or whats true... and NEVER become a scientologist :)

Catholics are Christains, among the first of them. Most Christians faiths owe a little something to what the Catholics did.

What I would like to know is what happened to all those people back in 1960 who snuck a ham or roast beef sandwich on Friday, now that it's ok to do it, but back then it wasn't!

What happened to them? Hell, Pergatory?

Now, you need to laugh at that one!

Oh and I was with LAPD and it was said that for every person who came in and filed a sexual complaint against someone 9 went unreported. Currently 15% of the Cathloics priests in the US have sexual abuse charges pending against them. Using the LAPD yard stick, does that mean 135% of the Catholic priests have probably commited sex crimes!?

Yeah I know. Protestants do it too. Except usually with teenage GIRLS!

Come on now, you wannted a good laugh!

I laugh every time I think of Jim Bakker and CBN!

Of course Catholics are NOT Christians.

They believe in praying to statues of the virgin mother and the saints, thereby violating one of the commandements about praying to graven images.

Plus they put all their power in a man, called the pope, who they believe actually is in direct daily communication with God.

And when you look at all the evil the Catholic church has done over the past 1000 years of so, how could they be Christian?

After all, the period when the church ran Europe is known as the Dark Ages.
