English is actually the worst out of all the Romance languages because it has the most exceptions to the grammar rules. People learning English as a second language often struggle becasue of this.
For any person, switching alphabets must be tough, be it from greek, cyrillic, arab (sorry, not sure what to call the scripts), or ideograms (oriental) characters to one of the others.
Maygar, the language in Hungary, is supposed ot be very difficult because it shares so little with the languages geographically close to it.

Well English has a lot of these rules and synonyms which makes it difficult but to me it was easy. Since I and my family emigrated I had to learn to speak and (pat on my back) and after being in 3rd grade(had just started in German) for 2 weeks was moved to the 4th. Also after being here in school 3 years was my County Champion Speller. I would thing Chinese and Arabic for in both languages instead of letters symbols, strokes . The language that I would love to learn though is French. I'm always amazed when watching foreign with English subtitles in IFC how similar the North European languages are to German for can catch words here and there so similar that i can know meaning,

While English may find Chinese difficult because of its tonal requirement, many Chinese find English difficult for its tenses. While French has a lot more tenses than English, it has much less prepositions to memorize. I think every language has some parts of it which are easy and some difficult. The best way to tackle language learning is to start early.
Linguist Eric Lenneberg stated that the crucial period of language acquisition ends around the age of 12 years.
We always defer our children's learning of foreign languages until e.g. teenage. But the fact is that toddlers can approach a foreign language much better than an adult.

Mandarin. And by the way,
"English originated in England, and is a West Germanic language which developed from Old English, the language of the Anglo-Saxons. As a result of the Norman Conquest and other events in English history, it has been heavily influenced, more than other Germanic languages, by French and Latin."
-Wikipedia
Who spread around that English was a Romance language? "Heavily influenced" doesn't mean "derivated from" Latin.

Well, I think technically, the Asian languages (Japanese, Chinese, etc...) look pretty hard. Spanish, English, French, and German share some similar words, although they are all difficult in their own unique way. For example, there is a LOT of slang (ex. ebonics) in the English language. My German exchange student found the slang the most difficult thing, as well as the conjunctions (ex. I'm, they're)...

I consider it style of depends upon which language you're beginning from. English has plenty in average with each German and French. I do not particularly recognize that a lot approximately the grammar or constitution of Russian or Persian, however they each have absolutely distinctive man or woman units you could need to gain knowledge of.

People think German is hard, but I think it's lovely. But then I learned it as a child from my mom, so that could be why I think that way.
Anything that's not a romance language can be difficult for us native English speakers. Having a background in Latin helps, however.
