I find it hard to believe that a priest would say that to you in the confessional, but, assuming he did, I wouldn't sue (not only because it is a sin against the Church and you may find yourself excommunicated, but also because I don't know how successful such an attempt would be), but I wouldn't be very worried either. Just go to another priest. Most priests are very good and are too happy to absolve you from your sins. If the priest says that there are some things you have to take care of before he absolves you, then take care of your business and go back for absolution.
Reconciliation is supposed to give you Penance and suggestions. The priest probably didn't specifically say that you are going to hell, as the Church never condemns anyone in such a way. He may have been stating that, for whatever reason, you were risking your immortal soul for something, but that is for you and your confessor to discover. I would definitely go back, but, next time, go to a different priest. Take your time, ask questions, clarify things, and listen carefully: I'm sure you'll have a different experience.

It's not a hate crime. He isn't sending you there himself, he didn't cause you any injury. The only thing he did is lie to you. He doesn't know if you are going to hell or not. Only God knows that. Your priest isn't the last judge and jury. He can only tell you the facts of the misconceptions he has been taught to tell others. Look at it like this, if God is going to wait until we are dead to judge us, who has the right to judge us while we are still alive. I would like the direct number to God that the priest seems to have to tell you you are going to hell. I have a few questions of my own.

First at all, i dont believe you, if he said that then maybe u were joking around and trying to be smart.
Are u sure of this?
Is not a hate crime unless he said you are going to hell because you are white or , black, etc etc, the only thing u cant do is not to pay attention to him.

How could it be a hate crime?
If you believe your priest has inside knowledge, then he is simply relaying helpful information and you should probably be thankful... personally, I'd see if he has any info regarding the timeline.
If you don't believe, then it really doesn't matter what he thinks, and you have to wonder why you were going to confessional to begin with.
Either way, you won't know until you know, ya know.

So instead of doing some honest introspection, some honest self reflection you're thinking of suing a priest for giving his honest opinion. You are going to hell. Why don't you repent? What a slime bag! Burn baby Burn! I love the smell of bacon in the morning!

no you cant sue a priest.
what he told you is a moral judgement and is not a hate crime.
the Bible talks about sin and the judgements for it.
the fact that it describes hell as a final place it also says that you will not go there till judgement.
BUT THE BEST PART IS THAT GOD FORGIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if your priest said you are going to hell you need to remind him about forgiveness.
as it says in the Bible " judge not lest ye be judged."

My guess is maybe you need to find a new priest, church, or spiritual belief. Or I suppose you could try to behave yourself, although you didn't say what you did to make the good priest angry. Maybe he was just having a bad day :)

why were you in confession? from your previous comments I doubt you are Christian in any sense of the word or belief. and further more, you don't believe in God so why does the concept of Hell bother you. after all, it does not exist right?
