Usually 3-5 weeks if heat smoked as opposed to cold smoked salmon.
Regardless it should be kept at temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerator). Or in the Freezer to prolong shelf life.
When in doubt throw away as the costs of listeria food poisoning isn't worth it.

Yes it goes bad but it depends on the chemicals which are added to the fish. How fast it depends on if it is a real salmon a Salmon Salar or something else they call salmon.

Smoked fish goes a long time without expiring but it will expire eventually. Look closer, the date is probably concealed from first looks.

I also have bagged salmon, with no epr. date. it dont go bad fast, I opened after 6 months and every one liked it, but personally I think it sucks.
Needless to say no one got sick, and the cat + dog really enjoyed the other two bags.

Here's my mantra: "When in doubt, throw it out"
Never take chances with food because it's certainly not worth the risk of contracting food poisoning!!!!

Yes, it does. Hold it under a bright light and look closely for the expiration.

Yes it does. It usually gets extra slimy and will be mushy. It should feel damp, but not slimy or sticky and it should have a little chew to it
