I studied with Brian and Anna Marie Clemons at the Hippocrates Health Institute home of raw food rejuvenation and health restoration and I learned and know by personal experience that the best ways to kick up energy is to drink freshly juiced vegetable juices (cucumber, celery, sprouts, lemon, maybe some kale or spinach or parsley). Drink this every day before a workout. (I do) and have two a day. (16oz each)

Also, avoid meat and dairy foods as they leave you sluggish.
Eat lightly lots of salads of fresh organic produce. Drink pure water.

From the Ayurveda, use spices cinnamon, cayenne, ginger, cloves, and aromatherapy oils eucalyptus, peppermint.

Stay away from chamomile, jasmine, lavender before 10pm
A good workout early in the day will pick up your metabolism for the day.
And don't sleep during the day.

i exercise frequently and i have found out the fruit can give you pretty good energy before a work out and taking the time stretch while listing to some good music. for the metabolism i have heard that if you shorten your portions at meal time and eat 5 times a day instead of 3 your metabolism well pick up but just remember your meal portions must be smaller and no seconds, like i said i have heard it is pretty effective...

try drinking a red bull or some other caffeinated drink. this will help to jump start you for a longer workout, especially if you are tired. just be careful about how much caffeine you drink - everything in moderation.

eat pasta a day in advance. whatever you do, don't drink any energy drinks or anything like that. you'll be hyper for awhile but then you'll crash.
