Jesus was baptized to fulfill prophecy. John blessed Him and annointed him as a Rabbi, and so at that time did God the Father.
y'see, it takes two Rabbis to make a rabbi... so John the B, being a rabbi... and God the father, being a rabbi... there you go!

Jesus was baptized as an example for us to follow. Jesus was sinless but He was also in human form when he was here. If He didn't baptize John, then he was already baptized.

Not only did Christ set the example for men, but he was the only human at that time to not only be baptized in water, but also in spirit (Matthew 3:13-17). This was his anointing by his Father in heaven to do the will in which he set out to do (John 4:34). In this way, not only was he authorized to be recognized by the men as the Messiah, but he also regained all knowledge of His heavenly life with his father before he descended to Earth and took the body of a perfect man (Luke 10:22).

well Jesus was not sinless, Jesus was a man of flesh, meaning he was no different then you or me, if ppl read the Bible for what it means instead of turning it around, then they would no that Jesus was a sinner, and no Jesus needed to be baptized by John, becuz Johon was chosen by God to do that baptizim....you would have to ask God the reason he chose John

That's what John said, but Jesus wanted to be baptized and that's when the HOLY SPIRIT descended as a dove...must've been "planned" that way...

Jesus was baptised as an act of obedience, to show that he too was obedient and did as God said. By the way, being baptised does not wash away your sins. Accepting Christ gets you forgiveness for your sins, being baptised is again "an act of obedience". It is an outward expression of an inner faith, it symbolically washes away your old life and you rise up to a new one. One where you are commited to following Christ.

baptism has nothing to do with washing away sin. it is a way to say publicly that you are a believer.

To teach us the way to salvation! He taught us how to pray, to offer perfect sacrifice, to heal one another, to worship.
Jesus taught in actions(works) much like a parent to a child.
Which He called all of us to be in the Lord.
