This is really easy and good.
Buy a Caesar salad mix (the kind with the dressing and cheese and croutons in it) and a box of frozen chicken nuggets (we like the southern breaded style). Cook the nuggets, cut them into fourths and toss them into the salad.
Then buy a package of those Pillsbury bread sticks with parmesan garlic spread in them, assemble, sprinkle with cheese and bake. Then you have yummy chicken caesar salad and cheesey bread for dinner. Yum.

Do you guys eat chicken? Here's a real easy recipe:
Ingredients: Chicken--preferably cutlets because they cook faster but breasts will be more moist, any color bell peppers sliced anyway you like, potatoes sliced, barbecue sauce.
1. Take a sheet Reynolds aluminum foil (I don't work for them, I just like them) and lay it on top of a baking sheet.
2. Spread some BBQ sauce on the foil.
3. Layer the other ingredients starting with the chicken and adding more BBQ sauce between the layers.
4. Take another sheet of aluminum foil and basically make a pouch around the chicken and vegetables.
5. Bake at 375F for about 40 minutes (less if you used cutlets) or until the chicken isn't pink (hard to tell with the sauce, to be honest) and the potatoes are cooked through. Use the potatoes as a measure; they take a long time to get soft.
Be careful when you open the packet because steam will escape.
Serve this with some white rice, make a garden salad if you want, pour a glass of chilled white wine, and you're done!
I tried to make this make sense in a "short" entry, so if it doesn't make sense, let me know.

How about a chuck roast.
Buy one about 2 pounds, put in a baking pan (spray bottom first), than get two potatoes and cut them length wise, put on either side of meat. Cook for about 1-l/2 hours at 350degrees. Serve with a frozen veggie that you can microwave.

i LOVE cooking and I always do it simple and many times even short cut and I HATE following recipes. u shud take the risk wit cooking (if ur man is supportive) n forget about following 100%. what i normally do is mix n match n just explore and it works!! I jus made my 1st ever pumpkin soup about 1 hr ago without following any recipes but went with very basic ingredients plus took the risk to explore with some spice i have at home ----it is like sooo yummmmmy, i swear i m nt exaggerating...
Simple stuff for u to check out:
-pan fried chicken fillet wit chopped garlic n onion in olive oil. throw in hardy veges like carrots, brocholi, cauliflower, beans, zuchini, capsicums (use colored ones so ur dish wil luk sooo "pretty"), potato (if u want carbo) etc...do remember the salt ofcos.
if u decide to explore some spice, add in some ground pepper
note: u cud do the same for fish fillet and sliced meat..and even sausages!!
let me knw if u wish to rcv more....
cheers!

Oh don't worry honey, I was in your position a couple of years ago! I just sat down with a good cook book, chose some recipes and cooked my heart out. Everything turned out just great, as long as you have the time and patience :) I suggest getting any of Rachael Ray's cookbooks because ALL of her meals are done in 30 minutes! So easy and tasty, it will really help you out.
Here's some recipes I think you'll enjoy, good luck!
BBQ Chicken Pizza:
1/2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
1/4 cup thin red onion slices
1 prepared pizza crust (12 inch)
1/3 cup BULL'S-EYE Original Barbecue Sauce
2 cups KRAFT FREE Shredded Non-Fat Mozzarella Cheese
SPRAY large skillet with cooking spray. Add chicken, green pepper and onion; cook on medium-high heat 4-5 minutes or until chicken is cooked through, stirring occasionally.
PLACE crust on baking sheet; spread with barbecue sauce. Top with chicken mixture; sprinkle with cheese.
BAKE at 400°F for 15-18 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
Chicken Tortilla Bake
1/2 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing
1/2 cup flour
3 cups milk
1 pkg. (8 oz.) KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided
1-1/2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 cup TACO BELL HOME ORIGINALS Salsa
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
16 TACO BELL HOME ORIGINALS Flour Tortillas
PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Mix dressing and flour in medium saucepan with wire whisk until well blended. Gradually add milk, stirring until well blended. Cook and stir on medium heat until sauce comes to a boil and thickens. Stir in half of the cheese. Reserve 1 cup of the prepared sauce.
ADD chicken, salsa and parsley to remaining sauce; stir until well blended. Spoon 1/3 cup of the sauce mixture down center of each tortilla; roll up. Place 8 of the roll-ups, seam sides down, in each of two (11x8-inch) baking dishes; top evenly with reserved sauce and remaining cheese.
BAKE 25 min.
Baked Ziti

MIX spaghetti sauce, ricotta cheese and reserved 1/2 cup pasta cooking water in large bowl. Add pasta and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese; mix lightly. Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and the Parmesan cheese. Cover.
