If you have experienced sanctification--do you sense anything different about yourself--do you sense more guidance from God than you did before, less likelihood to sin, etc?

I've wondered about this because I was raised in the Church of the Nazarene and read about and studied about entire sancification and the other articles of faith (http://www.nazarene.org/welcome/we_believe.html) but I've not understood what real life difference 'entire sanctification' actually makes in a person's life. If you say it's a process (I've heard it described that way) what milestones in that process have you reached--any results?

I'd expect changes like what I mentioned above. Thanks

Wow, no believing Nazarenes here that know their doctrine?

Thanks Richard--I do understand your position. Most the nazarene's I know from my folks church are actually really nice, people can be as nice as they want and still believe wrong things. Mom told me that about the Mormons she grew up with--guess she never thought I'd turn around and use the same argument on *her* church.

BrotherMichael:
"Do you find yourself more peaceful, experiencing more joy? Do you become angry less, more forgiving, showing grace?"

Yes to both--but I actually hit these milestones as a non-believer after I left the church. With some Buddhist influence and teachings in meditation. I don't think it was the Holy Spirit.

Thanks for the response though. It's very consistant with what I was taught.

We have been justified, but are in the process of sanctification. It is a process that continues until we are perfected upon our passage from this world to the next. Do not think of the Christian life as a straight up slope, but one of bumps, valleys and mountain tops. I think one can gauge their progress by the fruits of the Spirit in ones life. Do you find yourself more peaceful, experiencing more joy? Do you become angry less, more forgiving, showing grace? Do you desire the things of God and seek to know Him in a more intimate way? There are milestones along this road, but often we don't notice them until we have passed them.

I was raised in that church/cult also. That's why I now have nothing to do with organized religion. Those people are EVIL!!!
