The smell of a trusted human on the puppies will not make her reject them. However, you shouldn't touch them until they are a little older without having VERY clean hands, just because of germs. You can make her more comfortable, get some old towels or blankets for her and the puppies to lie on, and getting her some water is a good idea. She will know what to do. If she hasn't delivered the first one in a few hours, you could call the vet, but it should not be necessary to call for a normal labor. Also, if she seems like she is having trouble delivering, you can gently feel her belly to make sure the puppies are still moving a bit. If they stop moving for more than an hour, you can call the vet. But really, the dog will know what to do.

Dogs have been having puppy's with out help for many years let her have her puppy she would rather not be bothered would you want to be bothered if she looks like she may be having problems then i would call a vet but more likely you will be a new mommy to some puppy's soon enough

congratulations and when they are all born try not to bother her i know you mat want to go in right away and see what she has boys girls etc let her rest awhile if you need to know for records like writing down what dog was born first and what it was try doing it with out bothering her or the puppy's to much.

And if you touch the puppys SHE WILL NOT KILL THEM some people why do they open their mouths i have breed dogs before and i know a wonderfull breeder who i helped a long time ago she only breeds 1 ever 2-5 years any way they will be fine she will be fine if their is a problem don't panick call a vet lot of them will help you over the phone

Just let the dog be alone. Do not be in by it because you will make it nerovus and in some instances it will make them eat their puppies. The only reason you need to be in there is if one is not breathing. If it is not breathing then you need to take it and turn it upside down and lightly shake it to get the fluid out of its lungs. Also sometimes you will have to help take the sack off of the puppie if the mom is having them to ;quickly. A good thing to have in her cage is newspaper it helps absorb the mess.
Good luck with the puppies I hope that they are cute enjoy them!!!!!

Nothing or watch. Don't hang around if you can't be calm; dogs sense there owners.

If you can be calm your intuition will tell you if there is any issue; owners sense there dogs.

Birth is not a medical event just let nature take it's course.

Be there for her, and let her do her thing. She inherintly knows what to do, you dont have to waste precious $$ on a vet, just make sure you dont bother her or get in her way, she may try to hide and get away to have the pups outside somewhere or hidden in the attic or basement, you dont want that.

I was babysitting once when I was younger and saw a cat have kittens. We mainly just made sure the animal continued licking the kittens, because cat was real tired. They really do respond to your insistance to continue.yes ,I agree about the water. Not much else, just rally her on!

leave her be. after the first pup is delivered, monitor how long it takes between pups. if it seems like she's really struggling or getting incredibly tired and can't pass another pup, you'll need to get a Vet or a more experienced person over to help you.

Ah, you didn't plan for this in advance? have plenty of fresh blankets, warm water to help her clean the babies, open up their mouths and do a "sweep" to make sure all the gooks out of their mouths, call the vet, pet her....come on, girl...

let nature take its course. If she takes over 30 mins between each puppy RUSH her to the vet! Bring the puppies with you.
