Gel is for if you want to hold your hair just like it is and it not to come of out of its style for quite a while. it makes hair hard and crunchy most of the time though, so I would recommend using a flexible hairspray. if you realy want to use gel then get garnier fructise shake and hold gel, it works very well and if used right it doesnt make hair thick and hard. its still flexible and soft. You only spray it on lightly and then you comb through your hair. But you still have better luck just using flexible hold hairspray.

Not gel but Paul Mitchell wax, is good it doens break or ruin your hair

When you hair is wet you put gel in your hair and scrunch it so it makes your hair wavy. Treseme!!!

Are you talking about for black people's hair or for white people's hair? I'm white and I use mouse to add body to my hair.
