If he is in the military and will be flying home on a military cargo jet like a C-5 or C-17 it depends. He will likely make a stop in Germany or Spain for an aircrew change (usually a 2-3 hour layover barring maintenance problems. The first leg to Europe from Kuwait to usually take between 8 and 9 hours. From there the leg to the East Coast of the US is another 8 hrs flying time. Depending on where home, is another stopover in the US (2 to 3 hrs) maybe necessary. From the East Coast to the final destination in the US can take anywhere from 1 or 2 hrs and up to 6 hrs all the way to the West Coast. If he is flying on a commercial airliner with no stops your looking at about a 12-13 hour flight to the East Coast and then whatever it takes to get home. Hope this helps. Tell him that his fellow soldiers wish him well and thanks for what he does!!!!
