press start , find in menu settings, open control panel open sounds and audio devices klick on place volume icon on the taskbar you are done. And maybe you didnot install sound driver for your audio card. you can find out in system properities in device manager. but i think you do not have this prbl ju should just restart your PC. Good luck

Alright, calm down, there is a light at the end of this tunnel.... Now then due to the lack of information i cant be completely direct but i will do my best. Now then depending on your computer go to either
Compaqs website
Hps website
Dells website
Emachines website

OR who ever makes your computer... Go on tehre site and look for downloads or support or something, and look fore DRIVERS.. there find your model number and put it in and it will give you a driver page and find the sound drives, download and install... You may also try windows update.

Or if you have any driver disc put those in and look for the sound drivers..... Either way find who makes your computer go to there website and look on there.. it should be pretty step by step.

Good luck

or if you can tell what computer and model you have i might beable to find the link for you if you get stuck

what you should do is go the control panel. once you are there look for "Sound and Audio devices" and turn on the audio. if it does not work, go to the "add hardware" icon. the follow the instructions and select that you have already connected the sound card. after that the computer is going to look for the driver for your sound card. first the computer is going to look in a CD then the PC will look on-line for the right driver.

Try this, right click on MY COMPUTER and go down to PROPERTY. Then when a window pop-up click on the HARDWARE tab. Under that you should see a button that sais, DEVICE MANAGER. click on it, when the other windows pop up, look if there is a yellow mark on the left of the soundcard hardware. if there is then double click on it and there should be a button that says INSTALL or UPGRADE. then just follow the wizard. If all this doesnt work, then go find your dxdiag by doing a search> Open the file and then hopefully it would find the problem and solves itself.

Did you delete the Windows Component in Add/Remove Programs? Then, what you have to do is insert the recovery disc which you are provided when you buy. Then reload the windows.

start --> control panel --> sounds, speech, and audio

click the "adjust system volume" link

check the "place volume icon in the task bar"

click apply then ok.

You should now see the sound icon in the lower right hand corner.

Good luck.
