its cheaper than alot of places in the country
there is alot to do - aquarium, world of coke, calloway, great concerts and events at many venues ........................
home to many fortune 500 companies
many opportunities for out of towners to find jobs, as locals who graduated high school still can't read
easy to get tickets to sporting events - as the fan support here is a joke for a city this size
great restaurants great chefs
great nightlife scene for all ages
CONS
school systems suck 49th in the country, so you have to send your kids private
law enforcement is corrupt especially in DeKalb, Fulton a national embarrassment
traffic
Southerners have one speed - slow
Braves, Falcons and Hawks all suck
Crime - amazing to see the local news
Local News - Monica Kaufman scares us daily with her hairdo
Cynthia McKinney - a complete embarrassment
Vernon Jones
Dallas Austin - an international embarrassment
No nearby beach except for Lake Lanier and the genius' there are letting out all the water

If you're a girl, you can live in Atlanta and never have to open a door for yourself again. Serioulsly, guys just hold the door for you. Con-its REAL southern. People do everything slower than poeple from the north. A pro would be that if you're from the north people like to hire you becuase northen work ethic is highly saught after. Con- you'll have to listen to people talk about what frat/ soroirty they were in in college forever. (Greek ties are life long in the South.)

Pros: It is relatively cheap compared to most USA cities. Mild winters(for those who want to escape severe cold), plenty of restaurants everywhere.
Cons: Hot and humid, lots of air pollution that rivals air pollution levels in LA(that can be found in rural parts as well), bad traffic, bad drivers, and the fact that Atlanta does not measure up to the trappings of a real city such as Seattle, New York, or San Diego despite having the reputation of a world class city. I should know. I live in the metro Atlanta area.

con: it's hot and humid in the south..
con: hot and humid + exhaust and emissions == air quality worse then Los Angeles
they dont need anyone else in Atlanta.
pro: it is experiencing it's own little tech boom, not quite the silicon valley of the south, but at least bubba has an internet connection now.
pro: Deliverance was a documentary about life in Atlanta =D

Pros- lots of business and job opprotunites, beautiful homes, lots of culture, lots to do if you are young and SINGLE.
Cons- very hot and humid, horrible air quality, too many people, the design of the city is is bad which makes for a traffic nightmare, married people gave Atlanta the nickname of "Sin City" meaning don't move here if you are married because you won't be for long. (that's what I hear)

well, myself living in the greater Atlanta area...
Pros- many activities (aquarium, FOX theatre, Atlantic Station - just 2 name a few) and great restuarants, a very multicultural city, shopping!, beautiful skyline :]
Cons- traffic!, a reliable car is needed b/c not everything is within walking distance, pollution - which could become your allergy hell, and more traffic...
overall... a very nice city just like any other!!
