Sorry to hear about the teeth, that is a painful procedure!
Eating frozen foods is a good idea to keep the cold on your gums in a yummier way, just be sure to rinse out your mouth so the sugar doesn't stay in the injured areas and help bacteria grow.
Gargling salt water can help with swelling too
Advil (and all it's generics) can help reduce pain and swelling
try to use little bits of ice on the gums rather then big packs on the face to reduce the freezing your face off stuff. It'll still be there but not as bad.
Thankfully the mouth heals quickly, so you should be feeling better soon. Just don't try and eat chips for awhile, I was stupid and did that and a sharp chip jabbed right into the cut hurting area. No fun!

This sounds silly, but it really works.....when my daughter had her wisdom teeth cut out....I got a pair of over-the-calf tube socks and pinned the toes together and filled each side with a small bag of peas/corn that was frozen..make sure you loosen them up..then tie the open parts of the tube socks together on top of your head. Yes, you will look pretty old fashioned (like Alfalfa, from the Our Gang Comedies) but it will keep you swelling down. The next day alternate a heat pak and the cold pak....and take your Tylenol, this too will aid in your swelling going down.

Oh, I am soo sorry. You can take tylenol, and drink plenty of water. Also, get lots of sleep. Hold the ice on your gums instead of your face.

Not really. You can take Advil to help with the inflammation, but other than that you need to use Ice.

There is an easier and more delicious way, keep on eating ice cream. (That is, if you're not diabetic).
