Can people do this, yes, and honestly some do. God should never be use as such nor in vain. The Bible does call us to be and act a certain way though.
Such as the Bible says : that a woman should submit to her husband as she would unto the Lord. It also says that a husband should love his wife, as Christ loved the Church. That means be willing to even die for her.

Dude, have some R-E-S-P-E-C-T
God is not a crutch, but a Father
Faith is not a weakness, but a strength
It's not a religion, but a relationship...
You know, your pretty closed minded...
If you are blind enough to follow the unproven theory of evolution without question... then you are pretty hypocrytical to tell Christians that their faith is a crutch...
Why does every one bash and slap Christians around hear, every question that I see is anti-Christian... what is with you people?
Why do you people steriotype Christians and say terrible stuff about Jesus, when you would never speak anything against other religions...
NOT COOL.... but still I forgive you, no matter what you say, it is not my place to judge or condemn you even when you wrong me and others like me...
God bless

They shouldn't that's for sure. I've heard this phrase before "using God as a crutch" I don't totally understand it all the way, but I can say that God is not a crutch. We can lean on Him, but He also has standards for us too and it is not a easy life! It's swimming uphill!

God knows your heart. God wont give someone a car unless they need it or because God wants to prosper someone. But those who have many good things have the responsibility to use their money and resources wisely and help people who dont have it. So the wealthy have more responsibility and are accountable for what they have been given. Gods not a genie by the way.

Unfortunatly, people use God as an excuse to do whatever they want. Look at terrorists. They say that what they do is in the name of Allah (God). All through history, Kings have abused power and justified it saying that they were ordained by God. And it happens now, everyday. It doesn't make it right, but people do it anyways

I have done that I'm sure. Don't remember when, where or why - but I'm sure I have manipulated some situation with God's name.
It's so easy to do I am surprised that anyone claims they have not done it but cite other people with doing it.
Especially those who call on him constantly. They pretend to wish well but the tone is threatening; they are actually wishing ill will in the name of God. Is that called hypocrisy?

Oh yes. All the time. How else do you explain rich christians? Scripture says that it's easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.
Somebody should remind the Bushes...

Some people do, bible calls this witchcraft, needless to say God does not honor it. Invoke God's name can only be done, have him act, when our desires match his will for his glory.

God's name has a price tag on it
Put God on a can of cola and it will sell
But does he want it that way?
