What do you consider big? Ontario is big, yet close to LA. The weather is hot as hell right now. Yes, you need to rent a car, this is America. For the last question there is nothing fun to do in the interior of California.

Ontario has plenty of shopping...as mentioned Ontario Mills Mall. Very close to that is a fabulous mall, Victoria's Garden I believe it's called. Not an enclosed mall like Ontario Mills, so when it's as hot as it's been it's not much fun. Obviously the stores have AC but walking to and from can be hot. They have all the usual Macy's, Abercrombie, Hollister, etc. As everyone has metioned you can head into LA or for another direction head SW and hit Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area. There is South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island respectively where the beautiful & wealthy people are. We window shop alot there which is fun.

ontario is a big city, but not very fun and a little bit ghetto i might add. LA is fairly close, about a 55+ minute drive (but, ive been told that is a long time to non-southern california natives) and thats depending on traffic (and there is always traffic). there is really no convenient way to get around any part of southern california without a car. lastly, its been HOT HOT HOT here the past few weeks.

You'll need a car with Air Conditioning that works. It's hot. I think Victorville is nearby but Ontario has lots of shopping in Ontario Mill.

Ontario Mills mall has a rainforest cafe in it, some adult arcades, lots of cheap outlet shops, and LOTS of movie theaters and a comedy club. Tons of restaurants throughout Ontario..everything imaginable. Rancho Cucamonga is not far..also every restaurant imaginable. Cucamonga has a baseball stadium and their own local team, some wine tasting places, more movie theaters, another big outdoor mall called Victoria Gardens. Usually about 100 degrees right now on a daily basis.

Ontario is pretty big in its own right.

Its hotter than hell there right now, yes you need a car, they have a huge mall called Ontario Mills and the funnest thing to do there is to get on the freeway and drive far away.

Los Angeles, and San Bernardino. The wheather is usually cool, but lately it's been scorching hott. There's been a heat wave throughout all of california. A few people even dyed from dehydration, strokes, etc from the heat.
