Do you think Religous Fanatics know deep down that their religion is a load of crap and thats why they are sooo insistent on their views? any thoughts?

Fanatics, zealots, snake dancers....They are all the same. And no, they believe their bunk as much as you believe they are all crack-pots. Eventually with luck they may "grow" out of their fanaticism but some never do, poor fools.

I don't think they know it, but they fear it, and that's why they have to keep trying because if they stop trying they will have proven to themselves that the religion is a load. A lot of the stuff is based on a wager--I don't know if it's true, but if it is I want to be safe. Some people seem to be unable to face life as it is and need illusions. I doubt there's anything anyone can do to do away with those illusions.

No, I think that religious people, including the fanatics, truly believe in the teachings of their religion. Like everything in life, their are those that follow it to find peace and happiness, and their are those that take their beliefs to a level of fear, paranoia and hate that they try to spread throughout society, but on the whole I think most religious people are sincere in their faith.

If it was not faith based then there would be no discussion on Atheism and us Christians can delude ourselves into the next millennium. But as for me and my house I know in whom I believe,God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I let His peace when the rest of the world is in turmoil wash over me. What do you have? Your faith of non-belief that believed but now doesn't. So if you had faith at one time you are called a back-slider not a non-believer. I am entitled to my views just as you are yours. No I know my faith is not a dung heap.

Some do. They think that the people who question either their commitment or the validity of their beliefs needs to be silenced or they will convince them that their doubts are real.
I'm wishy-washy about the god thing as well as all other alternatives. I questioned some aspects of religion and so called Christians call me every name you think of and some threatened my salvation.
MR MISTER was particularly obnoxious - I don't think these people are Christians or religious at all. They are impostors at best.

The truth really doesn't need defending. Religious people debate, and love to argue their point. Your life should speak volumes about who you are, and what you believe without boring everybody, and running them off with the law. Grace is where God understands our weaknesses and failures, and loves us anyway. That is the way a good parent is. It is not about who is right or wrong, it is just God, His Son, Jesus, and our heart relationship with Him that will count in the long run.

i'm ill of everybody who's a enthusiast or extremist in any section. in the experience that they prefer human beings to understand and purchase into their thoughts, they prefer to placed some rational reasoning and mind decrease back into their perspectives. they provide a foul call to in the different case valid motives and damage the efforts of those who attitude the reason with the right experience of reality and appreciate for others perspectives. enthusiasts/Extremists are purely self-serving those with an undesirable obsession.

I think they know they are full of crap, but I think they fully believe in their religion. Seems they use that stuff just to see if they can actually get ppl to allow them to have authority over them.
