Alright, new rules. I'll bite.
In Genesis, God gave man "rule" over the women. She was to be submissive to him. Church was institued for man to come and worship, fellowship, and learn and teach, as they were head over the women, and hence, in Old Testament, and the New, responsible for the Woman and her family. "Leave your family, cleave to you wife." Church was, and still is to many right wings, mans buisness alone.
This one does not fall under God working in mysterious ways, it was a continutation of the submissive, less powerful position women had originally been given, when Eve sinned in the Garden. Women were not commanded to work, as man was. Women are to submit and be silent. But lets not forget, men have their own rules too.
Do I approve. Only in that God knows more than I do, and with faith I should trust that. Other than that, no, I cant say I do.

Your all wrong. For one thing there is to many chiefs and not enough Indians. By letting men take the lead in the congregation that eliminated 1/2 the population. Then only those who had a reputation of taking good care of his family and a responsible man. With a family who was obedient and he was in charge.
Showed good leadership abilities.
That eliminated some more.
then you get down to a select few people and everyone listens to them and they take this very seriously and read the bible.
Everything works. Even in a home to get anything done someone has to have the final say. so since men earn the living and women are pretty tied up having kids hanging on them.
They were the logical choice. Not because they are smarteer or better equiped someone had to do it.

The context of this passage has to do with women who would seek to take charge of meetings and argue with the men. In the Greek culture of that time women had much more freedom and wealth and social liberty than in the Jewish culture.
When Paul said women couldn't "speak" it's in the context of being an official minister of the word of God. It doesn't mean that they had to remain silent because in chapter 11 Paul says that if a women is praying or prophesying in church they should have their heads covered.
If you look at this passage, Paul says a similar thing and he goes back to the garden of Eden to make the case that the men are to have authority in teaching.
1 Timothy 2:11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
Apparently women are more prone to being deceived than men are when it comes to knowing what God has said and what it means.

that is the exact kind of nonsense you will find when you read the bible. the bible and god is a creation of man (to explain away his insignificance?) Therefore, the mores of the day were laid out in this verse in order to enforce a point of view on others that would have otherwise been unenforceable without the weight of righteousness to beat the offenders about the neck, head and shoulders.

Mark 12:42-44
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites.... And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Luke 21:1-3
And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all.
I'm pretty sure this sums up what "god" was thinking when they started this religion.
Shutting women up was a bonus. Taking ALL of their money was divine.

This is what God says about Homosexuality.... How you feel about it does not matter and is null.
Romans 1:18-32 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
creation Gen 1:1, Job 38:4, Isa 44:24, Col 1:16, Heb 11:3, Rev 4:11
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
uncleanness Matt 23:27, Rom 6:19, 2nd Cor 6:17, 2nd Cor 12:21, Gal 5:19, Eph 4:19, Eph 5:3, Eph 5:5, Col 3:5, 1st Thess 4:7
bodies 1st Cor 6:18, 1st Thess 4:4
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I think women have a tendency to dominate churches and men have a tendency to let them. It would give a chance to the men to step forward and take their place in the Body of Christ.

Because woman supposedly start original sin, and hence are 'sin' in human form. Their voices would condemn the lord if they do anything but speak the word of god.

You said "Quote Paul" not GOD. When Jesus was persecuted his deciples denied even knowing him and Peter doubted him. When he arose from the dead it was women who went to annoint his body, found the stone rolled away and proclaimed "HE LIVES,HE HAS RISEN without fear of persecution! His deciples were in hiding when told and like I said Peter doubted him. SO who shall silent those who love and believe in him? Not I !!!!

MAN wrote the Bible, MAN translated the Bible into other laguages, what did you expect MAN to say to keep women quite? Write it down, say it was God's word, and THAT will shut them up.
