Everyone is an individual. Studies have shown that most men need at least 6-8 hours and women need 6 hours. Children are a different story, age and activity level is a huge factor with children I personally can do 7 hours and feel great the next day.

Children will obviously need more sleep then adults. Did you know babies-children ( 1-12 ) grow while they sleep? Most doctors recommend atleast 8 hours for each person before resuming any activity. Although children would probably benefit best by getting atleast 10.
