I had a large air conditioner that broke down for good. I need to
replace this in a hurry . What are some good brands that provide
alot of cold air throughout one floor and energy efficient and last
years.

the best units on the market are without a doubt trane or american standard.they are different names but identical units. energy rate is determined by the seer rating they start at 10 seer and go past 18 seer.the higher the seer the more efficient the unit and savings.this could cause some confusion.basically do not purchase anything above 14 seer cuz the money you save on energy bills will never make up the difference that you paid for the unit seer of 18 and higher.

There are a variety of good brands. Carrier and Trane are probably two of the better ones. The best measure is the "SEER" number. The higher the number, the more efficient it'll be.

I agree with Jd. Get a Trane if it's central air.

Doesn't matter. They're all made in china anyway.

I WOULD SUGGEST A "TRANE", THEY ARE VERY DEPENDABLE.
