I was issued a citation in Indiana in Nov'05 for learner's permit violation, even though I had a valid Wisconsin state licence. The cop did not understand the probationery licence issued by WI. WI issues probationary licences to internationals and first time drivers. But these license holders are legal drivers. The DMV in Madison, WI has given me a letter stating the citation was wrong. Who do I forward the letter to remove the citation from my driving record. Please note the citation was issued in Nov'05.

Contact the state Department of Motor Vehicles and request a hearing. Be prepared with sufficient evidence to refute the specific record entries. Innocent until proven guilty does not apply in this case, so you must be prepared when you go into the hearing, its the only chance you'll get.

Contact the Clerk of Courts in the court the citation says to appear in. They should be able to help or at least point you in the right direction.
