buy a dog training "clicker"
u can get them from any pet store. they go attach to your keys, all you do is press the button when he barks and a cliick will be made... dogs have a very sensitive hearing and hate sharp sounds. such as a click. if you do it everytime. he will eventually realise when the noise happens and he will stop. will work very well.. good luck x

I have two dogs. And one of them especially does bark alot.
dogs dont like to be tied up. Is he tied up or is he loose in the yard?
Having the freedom to move around the yard may help. Are the dogs walked regularly? Dogs need to get out frequently otherwise they become frustrated and tend to bark out of frustrataion. They need to have release. Also I bet that he barks and barks and barks until you unchain him and bring him in. Am I right? If that is the case you are reinforcing his behavior. He barks to get your attention. You give him your attention and he is rewarded. Break the cycle. Use dog treats and make him wait progressively for longer periods of time. Maybe you can teach a old dog new tricks..!!

They sell collars that spray citronella when a dog barks, it doesn't hurt them but they don't like the smell.
They usually figure out that if they bark they get sprayed and quit the excessive barking within a week. Then you Can remove the collar and they still wont bark because they have learned that if they do they will be sprayed.

the most common reason dogs bark incessantly is because they are lonely and bored. Labs require alot of attention and exercise. Is your brother walking him daily? If not, he should try that and see if it works. If he is excercising him daily and playing with him too then a spray bottle with water in it is another great way to stop him. My dog trainer taught me to spray my dog in the face with water when he would bark incessantly for no reason. It works.

Have you tried a bone to keep him ocupied when they go out? Perhaps you could you what I do and sneak him over when the neighbour is out. He is only lonely and wants some company. Are you happy to do that and are your neighbours aware that he barks when they are out, and do your dogs do they same when you are out, these questions must be asked.

Go here for an awesome dog training program http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?e963
Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn t going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don t be one of them.

I bet his other neighbors love him too. Go buy a muzzle for him and check out the others in petco store. Hope your neighbors don`t call the police as they can get pretty nasty with the dog owners as a noise hazzard...
