Take a course, or try to find someone fluent to speak to you. Don't do it on your own, you'll mess up the pronounciation.

Familiarize yourself with the French culture. Start listening to music and watching movies in French. Try to imagine you are French.
Learning a foreign language has a lot to do with identifying yourself with the target language culture.

The Rosetta Stone software is really good as well, and I find that it teaches more everyday speech and seems more natural than taking some classes.
