Signing the ticket is your promise to appear in court. If you don't want to sign, you're saying you don't promise to appear. The next step is arresting you and delivering you to the custody of the jail. You are then made to appear.
Most traffic tickets have a phrase similar to "By signing this you do not admit guilt and only promise to appear at the location, date, and time listed below".

Yep, he sure can...the phrase is called "instanter". Meaning if you don't sign the ticket he can haul you before a judge right then!
My advice? Sign the ticket. Your signature is not a plea of guilty but a promise that you will contact the court within a given, set period to make some sort of disposition on this case.
Make sure you contact the courts, othewise there is another penalty that can be added, it's called Failure To Appear...AND at that point the court may issue a warrant for your arrest.
p.s. What is a ticket? Basically a ticket is issued when an officer observes an infraction of law. By writing you the ticket he is notifying you that he observed the (alleged) violation and that he is notifying of the court of what he has observed and who he has identified as the violator.

Signing the ticket just acknowledges that you were given the ticket and told when to appear in court. It is not an admission of guilt. The officer should have said as much when he gave you the ticket to sign. All state require signing the ticket when it is issued.

there is only a lot incorrect with that. A site visitors violation like that does no longer frequently require a courtroom visual attraction, you'll get a demanding and quick penalty and factors. And in a vehicle park? you need to were to determining to purchase mall vehicle parks and recognize that the guidelines of the line get thrown out of the window. If the guy develop right into a authentic cop the first element he ought to ask for ought to be license, registration and insurance. Makes me ask your self if the guy develop right into a cop or a scam artist or a jumped up parking attendant if what you're putting forward is precise.

By refusing to sign the ticket, you're basically saying that you're not going to show up in court. So, I guess the logical conclusion is to arrest you, but cops can do anything they want. They can even let you slide, although they obviously didn't in your case. Just sign it.

Yes, you have to sign it, not as an admission of guilt but as a promise to appear on the date and time stated on the citation. It's easier than what will happen if you refuse.

It is not an admission of guilt. It is saying that you promise to appear in court on the date given. If you do not then they arrest you till they can take you to court.
