I had it like two years ago. And now all of a sudden there's a blister on my lower lip. Can I have it again after 2 years? And now I have a sore throat. Is that possible?

The blister is actually inside the mouth, on the lower lip. I don't run a temperature. I have a sore throat, once in a whileI sneeze but I don't cough. It's been two days.

And the blister doesn't hurt. It's just there.

Not supposed to. The blister may be symptons of cold or fever.

My son had it at 6 weeks, 6 years and 8 years. It got worse with each case. When he was 8 it was really really bad. He never got them again and he's 17 now. Good thing cause if you don't get a bad case when you are young or get a shot! then you get shingles when you are older (related to chicken pox) and that is the pits! Lots of teens get them today. Used to be an old people disease. You need a doctor. They don't go away by themselves. Use tea tree oil. It tastes yucky, but it works great in relieving the pain! And, take l-lysine, it's a vitamin, it helps too.

Yes they can, infact you can get it numerous times. It's a herpes virus. I've been a nurse for 26 years and we are giving immunizations to kids to help. The Varicella shot doesn't keep you from getting the pox again but, it helps so if you do get it, the next time it will be less pox and easier. Shingles is also the adult version of chicken pox, it's herpes also. Then there's Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 and type 2.

Yes, but it sounds more like you have a cold sore than Chicken Pox...

Cold Sores are from the same family as Chicken Pox (Herpes Zoster, I believe) ... now, don't worry... it's not dangerous... but it can be a little uncomfortable..

... but it IS contagious... be careful... don't share glasses, or kiss anyone, or you could pass it along.

There are a couple of drugs you can get for it. Some are over the counter, and, if you get them frequently, you can get prescription medication.

Good luck!

I'm amazed by all the people that shouted a resounding NO.

I've had chicken pox twice. I doubt that you have chicken pox now though - sounds like a cold sore. Check out Abreva - it shortens the "life" of a cold sore.

Some people are so rude.

If it doesn't clear up with the Abreva, call your doctor.

The odds that you have chicken pox again is very rare. You may just have a cold sore and a sore troat from the in and out of air conditioning. If you have a lot of hive like pox starting on the trunk of your body and radiating out then it may possible that it is pox. Either way...if u are really concerned, see your doctor.

It's rare for people to get the chicken pox more than once unless you have a irregular immune system. But most of the time your body has immunity for life.

You should treat that sore throat and if it continues you should see a doctor.

Yes someone can get chicken pox twice.....ifff youve been exposed. What you have sounds more like a cold sore (herpes) & a sore throat. If youre running a temp plz see your Dr for a test to see of you have a strep throat. This can be serious if not treated with antibioics. God bless.....

Hi there!
I dont think chicken pox occurs twice. It could be something else that looks like a pox. Try to go to the doctor as soon as possible and check what the infection is. Take care of yourself. Green or lime tea for your throat!

Yes, you can get it twice, although rare. But if you have a blister on your lip it may just be a simple cold sore.

it is very rare to have chicken pox twice , usually only happens if you got the chicken pox when you were younger than 6 mos old, after that usually you have antibodies. it could be a cold sore on your mouth , chicken pox you would have more than 1 blister.
