Maybe its just the kind of relationship that me and my mom have , she is pushing 42 and Im not even 19 yet, shes sagging and getting wrinkles and gray hair, I dont have gray hairs or wrinkles and everything is tight and in its place, she also has a crap job while im just starting college, anyway she always has some mean comment for me or a put down for no reason except the one I am thinking of which is jealousy.

You know, moms get that way from having kids. Just remember one day you will be in her place. Really, 42 is not that old. She still has a lot of life left, God willing. She could be acting this way for a lot of reasons- one of which may be stress, especially since it sounds like she has a lot to worry about. Like a daughter who is growing up and going to college and working in a job that you say is "crap". Is she working this job to help you in college? If she is, that may be one reason she is crabby to you. If it bothers you enough, talk to her about it. It sounds like the two of you might need to talk anyway.

Good luck with college!

I'm familiar with a similar scenario. It's very common.
When a woman turns of age, especially over 40ish, they start to doubt themselves. Granted I've know older women to be far superior to many younger women- in the respect that they have experience, knowledge and compassion- that younger people just can't imagine.

I don't think it's exactly jealousy... ENVY or ADMIRATION maybe, regrets of missed opportunities, etc.

Try to be as encouraging as you can, tell your mom how beautiful you think she is and that some of your guy friends have mentioned that they think she's "hot" or "beautiful"- I bet anything that would make her feel great.

Probably not. You sound too shallow and stupid to be jealous of. But just remember, part of the reason she's "sagging" is because of giving birth to your ungrateful ***. Sounds like she had you while she was pretty young and probably gave up a lot for you. Who's paying for your college...her? With her crap job? You outta be ashamed for even asking that question.

Could be jealousy, but could be she's just really tired of you thinking you're so much better than she is. Personally, I might want my 18 year old body back, but not if I had to take my stupid, shallow 18 year old brain with it.

I think so.I lived with this one lady that was older than me and she would always wear my clothes and shoes without asking and then when i would wear them she would put me down. She would always point out bad things of my body when hers was way worse.

hummm....perhaps your mother is jealous of you, but you would think, if anything she'd be proud of you and what a wonderful job of a mother she's done, for you to have all of these wonderful things in your life.
