Breast feeding is the most natural way of nurturing our new infants.
I am confused as to why people even question this. Its okay to have our young one watch all the most disgusting TV adds that are sex driven, yet feeding an infant which is source of life is to be seen as a crime.
Women in bikinis is okay, and low cut pants that shows t-strings is okay. Yet a mothers breast can be seen as illegal in some areas/countries.
Our poor young one has to see the women with breast on TV with no choice, now they have no choice that their source of food is argued to be criminalize by some people.
Why is it illegal, depending on those sexually active maniac who can't bare looking at it during breast feeding.

Breast feeding itself is not illegal, however under some situations when people (ignorant people) get offended at the most natural sight on earth and a big deal is made, indecent exposure laws can be called upon to fine or arrest the woman. Usually though, these cases become highly publicized and the courts and -usually a place of buisness is involved- the buisness suffer much pressure from the intellegent portion of the public and from orginizations such as the la lech league to drop the charges. McDonalds went through a similar battle a few years back, they asked a nursing mother to leave, they suffered so much pressure from the la leche league and concerned mothers that they now must allow mothers to breast feed.

apparently you've under no circumstances considered a lady breast feed in public. at the same time as they do it....they don't merely pop a boob out for the international to verify. it is done discreetly, frequently with a towel thrown over the breast so the fave public does no longer see. also, maximum women persons will bypass to a lavatory if it has an area for her to sit down. yet at the same time as a toddler needs to eat....a toddler needs to eat. i ought to fairly a lady breast feed the baby then my having to hearken to a screaming hungry toddler. And in case you could't tell the version between a lady breast feeding a baby and a XXX action picture....you choose to get your eyes checked. Or a minimum of employ some porno flicks so that you recognize what pornography appears like. reason breast feeding ain't it.

It's not in GA, but every state is different. I've fought the public breastfeeding battle for years (I'm nursing baby #3 at this moment, and have nursed my 3 kids for a total of 5 years. It's so easy to be discreet, I don't see what the big deal is. Here's how I look at it...I wouldn't want to eat my dinner in a bathroom, or a hot car, so why should my baby have to?

It is not illegal anywhere in the U.S. to nurse a child in public.
Breastfeeding legislation has been enacted in over one-half of the United States. Initially, legislation concerned itself with breastfeeding in public issues, clarifying that mothers have a right to breastfeed where they go with their baby. Since then, other issues have arisen, such as exempting breastfeeding mothers from jury duty, or protecting breastfeeding mothers when they return to work. A few states have enacted laws that require courts in family law cases (divorce or separation) to consider breastfeeding in making custody and visitation or parenting time decisions. Two states exempt mothers nursing their children in their cars from the seatbelt laws. Maryland became the first state to provide an exemption from the sales tax laws for breastfeeding accessories, such as pumps, shields, and other items that are used by breastfeeding mothers.

Breastfeeding in public is not illegal. It never has been and never will be. Many states have special legislation to protect breastfeeding, but even if your state does not have special legislation, that does not make it illegal. One good place to look for information about legislation is on the La Leche League Web site.

Some cities do have laws against breast feeding in public. However, they are either not enforced or when someone is cited for it, it goes to court and the mother usually wins and the law is removed.

I honestly don't think that it's illegal. I see women do it all the time. If it is a law then my guess is it would vary from state to state. Also it could be just another one of those laws that are in the books but nobody enforces.

I would much rather see someone nursing their child than to see someone's underwear showing from the top of their pants or their butts hanging from shorts/skirts. If my baby is hungry, I feed her where ever we are. I don't think it is illegal in Mississippi or Louisiana. If it is, oh well. Let them lock you up for feeding your older child a hamburger in public.

It isn't illegal to breast feed, what is illegal is to expose your breast. If you breast feed then you need to do so discretely, you have to cover your breast and not expose it to the public. Just use your common sense and don't flash anyone.
