I have never been to one before, what would be an appropriate gift to bring?

the celebration is for a 15 year old girl. Beer would be inappropriate and insulting.

I go to several of these a year, since I teach high school!

I always go with a gift card, usually to a "young" store like Abercrombie or Forever 21. Put it in a card and decorate the envelope with a little trinket of some sort - a pair of earrings, a fun keychain. Just a note: I'd leave the religious gifts to members of the family (especially the godparents).

The same sort of gift you would give someone at a sweet sixeen party.

I would suggest a good book on how to get in to college, or other wholesome, beneficial topic that is meaningful to you and represents that you care about the girl's future.

A Quinceanera is a celebration of a young woman's 15th birthday in many Hispanic cultures. Traditional gifts include bibles, cake decorations, jewelry, photo albums, dolls, cake servers, and toasting glasses.

You can never go wrong with cash or gift cards. Find out what her favorite clothing store is...and get her a gift card. She will appreciate the fact that you didnt try to shop for her!!

When i have gone to Quinceñeras i always buy some type of jewelery nothing expensive of course but that looks nice. Since supposedly it's a party for some kind of becoming a woman type of thing you could always get her whatever you feel right she would need but nothing too childish!

hmmm...you said quincenera, so I'm guessing they're latino...my suggestion would be beer...and lots of it. If not that, try tequila; Jose Cuervo by preference.
