Lots and lots of time... if you're really in love with him there is no quick way to stop loving him or to stop hurting. You may always love him... if so, the pain will ease and life WILL go on, even if it doesn't feel that way right now. This is probably not the answer you wanted ( God knows, we all want a quick way to get over some one!) but it's the truth!

Its really really hard. My ex and I had a nasty break up. There was no closure, and to be honest the memory of him haunts me. Of course I go on with my life, do what I have to do. My friends and family kept me from going over the edge, but God knows I still love him. I pray and ask God to give me strength to keep moving on. I know he didn't appreciate me, and probably didn't love me even close to the love I had for him, but he is still in my heart and mind. I'm much better than I was, it's been about six or seven months, but every now and then, I just can't get him out of my mind.

I wish you the best. Take time for yourself. Try and improve yourself and love yourself. Make yourself stronger and wiser for the next person, and hopefully you won't have your heart broken again. Good Luck

Find something about the relationship that has made you a better person, then focus on that and be thankful. Try not see the break up as a negative, look at it as an opportunity. An opportunity for you to take the knowledge you have gained about yourself and move on--to bigger and better.

Life is too short, don't cry for too long!

You have to start living for yourself. Keep occupied with your friends and family, take every invitation you get to keep your mind off of him. I know it's hard, but you're not the first and won't be the last person to have gone through this. Time does heal all wounds, and it's different for every person. You will look back on this relationship and realize that things weren't right, and soon enough you will find someone who is right for you.

I had a hard breakup with a girl once. What helped me get over here were my friends and family. I also started doing things for myself that made me feel good. Went to the gym, traveled and just started going to nice bars and lounges. Now I am happily married to a wonderful women and we have three beautiful girls.

Say this to your self out loud.

It's all over, but the crying.

Now is the time to go out with all the other guys you always wanted to, but were with him. So make a list of guys who you wanted to date and go ask if they are still interested in you. This will pass the time and you will not be sitting around waiting for yourself to heal.

It will hurt alot like burning your heart. Well, sometimes, has to let it go. Don't try to forget him hard. Just thinking of him that how he treated you, the moments that you were together and make him still alive in your dream. Ok. Doing things regularly like before and you will get over it automatically. Ok. Don't try to forget him immediately. That doesn't help to cure you.

There's really no way to make yourself get over him, except for time. Though you may always love him, it will in time become a different kind of love- the kind of love you have for a friend. Oh, and avoid sappy love songs.

Every day remind yourself of all the things that used to annoy you about that person. And think about how happy you are that you don't have to go through that again. I believe that future always brings better things. Whenever somebody broke up with me I was sad, but now I thank god for it, because from this perspective, they were horrible.
