Here in Oregon we've abandoned big breweries in favor of microbrews. Come visit. I think you'll find that we have what you're lookin for...the most microbreweries per capita in the world.

Although, I must confess that I prefer Knob Creek on the rocks (100 proof).

You should have tried the stuff the workers building the pyramids had. It had opium in it among other herbs. That was a beer recipe you won't make and sell legally. It was made in small amounts in clay containers similar to the ones they have found the clay (pottery) batteries made with. Around the size of an old style pup bottle. You didn't drink the whole thing because of the hops and junk on the bottom. It was mostly used as a sleep aid and pain killer.

It's not by choice canuck. It's our government. They regulate the amount of alcohol that can be in our beer. Another case of big brother knowing what's good for me. Yeah, right.

Anyway, I have traveled to many other countries and much prefer the beers those countries brew as opposed to those here at home. I agree with you, beer should be rich and vibrant. It should have a taste to it.

Finally, what is life like in the US? It's just like Canada, only it's warm. Sorry, couldn't resist.

You talk as if Canadian beer is something special, it really is no different then American beers except they charge a few extra bucks for Canadian ****. Most micro-brews make good beer, anything real commercialized is usually a crap product.

ok you damn CANADIAN a VERY small percent of our beer is under 5% if it is i won't drink it
light beer means it is light in color not in alcohol content
only about half of the beer if even that is considered to be light beer
Americans produce much better beer than CANADIANS

SO KNOCK OF ALL THE DAMN STEREO TYPES

If YOU ever come to america stop in at a local brewery, instead of 7 11.

This bird is for you.

just so you are aware, most americans don't drink light beer. i sell more guinness, bass, harp, and new castle than miller or bud light. also, light in america has nothing to do with the alcohol content, it has to do with calorie content. actually goose island which is brewed here in chicago has beers with close to 6% alc by vol and they are considered light beers here.
