Recently I've been extremely fatigued - not "sleepy", but rather a drained, my-muscles-don't-want-to-work kind of tired. Usually I work out daily, in addition to a job where I'm always on my feet, walking around, and going up and down stairs. I've never had a problem with energy before - I'm usually a very upbeat and outgoing person. But lately my job alone has been making me absolutely exhausted! I don't know what I can do to get my energy back! :(

My diet is wonderful - lots of fruits & veggies, & enough meats, carbs, and fats. I also take a multi-vitamin each day (One-A-Day Women's), get between 7-9 hours of good sleep each night, and don't consume caffeine (& don't want to start). I drink about 10 glasses of water each day. I usually get regular exercise, but lately I literally can't move. I just don't know what to do!! :(

Again, I'm not "sleepy", but rather I'm just physically tired... even if I haven't worked out. Please help!!

In terms of exercising, your body needs time to repair. I don't know how intensely you work out, but it is always wise to throw in a couple rest days a week to give your body its much needed time to recouperate.

In terms of work related exhaustion, I can relate to that with my strenuous workload at college. I know the feeling of being drained.

Honestly, I think you should take a weekend off. I think you are over-exerting yourself physically and mentally, and your body is telling you to slow it down. Sleep as much as you can, relax, and take it easy this weekend. Remember, you are not a superhero, and the human body can only take so many stresses at once!

Avoid the heat and the "heat of the sun". Heat is very draining. This mean absolutely avoiding suntaning whether you have sunblocks on or not. Avoid sitting under hot lights if you have them at work. Some of them are 140 degrees F and you can literately bake if you sit under them for 8 hours. If your skin is very red and perhaps burning, this could be the reason. Its called erythema ab igne and in the early stages, all you feel is fatigue and a reduce ability to sweat. Thats what happens to me.

Also get your iron checked(complete panel) and and thyroid checked

It is possible to get too much sleep. If you are sleeping on the 8 to 9 hour side of your 7-9 hours of sleep each day, you may be getting too much rest. On average adults need 7 hours of sleep each night. Too much sleep will result in exactly the symptoms you describe. However, as with any other time you feel out of sorts, I would recommend that you go see a doctor.

It's very hot in the summer and you are over excerting yourself. Drink some engergy drinks, such as Vita Water. A cousin of mine said it really works and that it's great for people who bicycle or jog. I suggest you drink 2 bottles, to start.

Get to the doctor, and a physical for fatigue. I think you have a medical problem. Some examples may be low iron (blood) high blood sugar (diabetic), or thyroid problems.

Try cleansing your body of its toxins!

I want to tell you about the most amazing weight loss product I have ever come across.

ISAGENIX is an all natural cleansing diet. My FAMILY DOCTOR recommended it to me! I looked it up on their website and found some amazing stories. The average weight loss is 7 pounds! There is even an ABC NEWS STORY
( http://www.goodmove.com/team/c4part1.wmv )
that shows a man and a woman going through the Isagenix system. Debbie, a woman of two that suffers from chronic fatigue, went through the Isagenix 9-day system. Debbie lost 8 lbs and reports feeling incredibly great, and does not suffer from fatigue anymore. And Rob, who used to be a football player lost an amazing 22 pounds in 9 days!! These products are just amazing. This is not a starvation diet. All natural products actually feed your body while cleansing out all the toxins. This contains NO harsh stimulants. Please check out http://www.ajwarner.isagenix.com . Additional websites of interest are Weight Loss Hall of Fame ( http://www.weightlosshalloffame.net ) & 100k from home (http://www.100kfromhome.com ) that shows amazing weight loss stories.

Are you depressed or stressed about anything?
Are you in good health, all of your body ?
Maybe you are over exerting your self and your body is telling you to slow down and take it easy for awhile>
I don't mean stop exercising but slow down your life style.

Go see a doctor. Tiredness could be a symptom of anything as benign as dehydration to something as serious as infection.

You might be partially anemic meaning your body doesn't have enough iron for whatever reason. Try some daily iron supplements.

Vitamin, mineral or amino acid deficiencies could be the cause -- including borderline anemic. I'd get my blood checked first if I were you!
