tell the friend NOT TO RUN. just to stand there....the dog only sees running as something that wants to be chased. i had a friend that was afraid of a dog that i had (the dog wouldn't have hurt him) my friend ran from the dog and he chased after....my friend got his shirt ripped and his back scratched up. you get hurt worse by running from them than if you would just stand there and let the dog meet you. if he's really the petrified of dogs he should stay away from it completely....not run from it in fear. animals are most aggressive when they can sense fear in someone.

BECAREFULL, i had a dog that barked and chased after my sons friends for years, then a few monthes ago he bit my grandma and husband , he is now gone to a adult only home where they know he bites, your dog is starting a bad problems that will turn in to more i promise you

No, but I had a pitbull that didn't like anybody but my ex and me. One day my ex's brother, after being told that the dog bites, walks right into the dog's chain area and my dog grabbed ahold of him by his collar and pulled him further into his area. It was funnier than hell to see the look on his face when my dog grabbed him. I nearly wet my pants.

i set my german sheppard loose on my cousin when i was a kid.
my dog just wanted to lick his face and smell him. my cousin curled up into a ball and cried and screamed.
he deserved it. he was mean to me and kept picking on me.
