Can you tell me how I can write a letter to the President or do anything that can catch his attention? Thanks

I'm trying to find a way to write a letter to the President of the US because I am very upset and disappointed with how he handles Science in the US. If you can help me with this, I will greatly appreciate it.

Letters to the President can be sent to
President (In this case, Pres. Bush, or Pres. George W. Bush, etc.)
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Washington, D.C.

I don't have the ZIP code at hand, but it can be looked up pretty easily, online, or at the Post Office.

A letter doesn't always stand out, and may or may not reach him. But it is the safest. I would suggest having a lot of letters and post cards sent all at once. That would be more noticeable. Try to get a community or educational group to support your effort with a group letter-writing campaign.
Things other than letters, e-mails, or other traditional formal communication could get you in trouble. I'm talking about grand gestures, packages, public stunts, etc.

Just write a letter to the President and send it to his address in Washington, DC. He may or may not see it personally. But it will be read by one of the people who work for him. If you are a student why not enlist one of your teachers and the rest of the class to write the letter. You may have a much better chance of the President seeing the letter if it is done this way.

I can tell you this, if you try to make any kind of personal communication directly with the president of the United States, positive or negative, the NSA starts a file on you. If the president ever comes to your area for any reason, agents from the NSA, the FBI, and the Secret Service will have your personal information at hand and if anything threatens the president during his visit, guess who gets a visit next. Lets hear it for Homeland Security.

I think there's an address on line. Look up the White House. I'm sure you can find something.

Don't be so sure he'll actually read it or care though. Unless you a writing to support his cause, it will most likely get trashed and you may end up with generic letter back saying, "Thanks for writing!"

you see the junkee on the street, doing his drugs,passing out where he is at. Beggin change,prostituting whatever. Don't blame your brother. Love @ help him if you can. Truth is, the current ecconomics doesn't need all the people to function, and if you don't have that gift or that look, your on the low end. I promise you, every degenerate, pimpin,drug dealin, embesilin,low life thief has a purpose(obviously not doing what they are currently doing) but they do have a purpose, just not in the current economics. I may not like all of my neighbors, but I need them. There is no way I can raise my own food,raise the livestock,build my house,teach the children and weave the material for their cloths too. We do need to secure our borders,and we do need to know who is here. As far as the law is concernd,the current u.s.government has created this situation as another tool to keep some of my neighbors fighting. As long as we remain separate, we can't stop the real problem ---------- our current politicians !!! Why are we arresting, and in some cases jailing for 6 months line jumpers then driving them back to mexico. -----Stop them at the border, then make the mexican government send humanitarian aid to them. However, we need to stop making so much of a living off of what is destructive. we can stop the destruction only with unity and the willingness to change. we will only be truely secure when we, as a society, make more of a living off of life. please, lets re-evaluate what we value

It is not posible to disagree with the president and get his attention using a letter.


#1. Because only junior assistant staffers read letters.

#2. If the letter isn't praising Bush, it gets archived at your expense.

#3 . Bush is set in his ways. He makes decisions based upon his moral convictions. He listens to God speaking to him. An added benefit of having God speak directly to you is that there isn't a need to attend church.

BTW if you send a letter disaproving of the President, a copy of the letter is sent to the NSA and uploaded to their database.

How he handles science in the US??? I didn't know he was a scientist. Boy, for as many people that talk about how dumb this president is, he sure gets involved in some heavy stuff. Why don't you just explain your issues to us and maybe we can clarify some things for you. However if you contact the President please be sure to use respect. If you vie for his attention in a crowd be very nice about it or those nice people with the nice suits will take you out.

I'm sure Dubya will be thrilled to hear all about your views on science. On a serious note...DO NOT, in any communication to the White House et al, say anything ...well..that might be construed as not to bright. Threats...VERY strong viewpoints that have a rebellious tone..leaning towards treason. You know..that type of thing. Think long and hard before you type fast and furious.

As for letters of dissapproval getting sent to the NSA....show me one example or show me one shread of evidence to that end. Letters of dissent, threats, treasonous, etc., yes...letters of dissapproval...hardly.

you need to blow yourself up out front on the sidewalk and leave your concerns written in indelible chalk so that the press has a chance to record your message. in no way am i suggesting you should attempt this. i'm just reminding you that our president feels free to blow off congress! your sciency issues will NEVER get the attention they might deserve. other than that you might try to send a box of dog cookies to his dog Barney and place your written concerns inside so that when a white house staffer opens it up he (or she) will walk into the Oval and deliver your concerns personally.
