Unfortunately, unless you are the type that can eat and eat and never gain an ounce, chances are, you will lose that hyper metabolism as you age. It tends to slow down in the mid-20s and decrease, and by menopause (or the male equivelent), it changes completely. You can, however, keep it higher by performing regular exercise and keeping healthy.

A good way to completely trash your metabolism, though, are eating disorders such as anorexia and bulemia. They completely rewire your system to want to slow down and store everything versus burning it all away.

Its possible. I know a person who had a high metabolism as a teen, but not as an adult and another who had a high metabolism as both a teen and adult. It depends on your body. Look at other members of your family to see what you can expect.

I thought I had a tape worm when I was young, 95-110lbs through Jr/high school) I started to gain some weight when I graduated college and got into technical sales (lots of traveling, entertaining). I hit the exercise routine at Bally's and was able to maintain a 34 waist for fifteen years! If your body is stable now you have it in you to maintain the weight later (providing you exercise periodically and don't eat all those saturated fats and/or drink carbonated beverages).
