Absolutely not. I know that when your younger it feels that way but I promise you that as you get older they will become things for which people admire you greatly.

No you are not a dork or a nerd for playing the violin and being very smart. Honestly, you shouldn't allow your peers to lower your self esteem because you are smart and play the violin. Plus it will look good on your college applications once you apply to colleges if you continue to get good grades and keep playing the violin. If these people who claim to be your friends are telling you that you are a dork or nerd for being smart and playing the violin, then they're just jealous of you.

You couldn't be too smart, or you'd have asked, "Am I a dork or a nerd if I play the violin and AM very smart?"
Nothing wrong with playing violin. Dorks and nerds are people who don't take pride in who they are.

The intelligence would put you in the nerd category, however the violin could make you a dork. If I were you I would go with nerd at least nerds are smart.

Who cares for labels!
Do want you wanna do, people only give labels out like that to feel good about them selfs.
Just think.
"The ones who called me dork and nerd are probely gonna grow up and be eatting TV dinners, while I spent me time being smart at school and am now playing at concerts and liveing rich!"
So never fall below a label. just be yourself and it will all turn out good

Your neither!!!!! I just went to see Rascal Flatts in concert in Tahoe - and they have a guy that plays the violin in their group - and he came out and did a solo for the audience - and he rocked!!!!!!! He had everyone out of their seats!!!! Maybe your just playing boring music - venture out and learn other tones!!!! And as far as being smart - men don't like stupid women - be glad your smart - hold your head up high and say "I am a smart, talented amazing woman with everything to offer!!!!!"

If you were that smart you would have wrote "and am very smart" instead of "and are very smart".
Anyways, to answer your question I would say you have talent. The violin is a tough instrument.

no, people just are calling you that because they are jealous that you do better than them on tests and that you can play a musical instrument... it makes them feel inferior or something if they have already poor self-esteem to start with. HOpefully you aren't flaunting your musical prowess and intelligence, and that you are using your high IQ to benefit your community and bring happiness to others. Btw, I love violin music, can you play any part of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, my favorite piece of music?
