Brown a couple (more if needed) pork butt chops.

Put the following into your slow cooker:
chopped potato (or a can of diced potato, drained)
chopped root veggies - turnip, carrots, whatever you like
add your meat
about 2-3 cups of your favourite veggies (* be sure to put slower cooking root veggies, potatoes on the bottom)
lots of mushrooms
lots of chopped onions
a selection of your favourite spices (I like lots of pepper)
top with a can of condensed cream of mushroom or or cream of asparagus soup and about 1 cup of water
(be sure not to overfill - you need to allow boiling room)
Switch on your pot and let it cook.
The wonderful aroma will greet you when you get home.

You can do the same with a cheap cut of steak as well.

I actually have 2-- Put a whole chix in there with 2 jars of gravy. Add spices. Let it simmer all day. The whole house will smell so good!! It just falls off the bone. Also-Shredded pork--- Put a whole pork roast in. Add 1 packet McCormicks seasoning for shredded pork. Go to work and it will be ready when you get home!! Just falls apart with a fork and so good! Have fun with your crockpot! Lots of recipes are free on the internet. Just put recipes into GOOGLE and then start cooking!

boneless pork loin roast
add fresh crushed garlic (about 2-3 cloves), about 1/4 cup water, and some salt (sea salt if you have it - it's not as salty) (I also add a dash of liquid smoke if I have any on hand). Put it on low in the morning before you leave -- the smell will make your mouth start to water when you walk in the door after work.

Serve it with rice (long grain, NOT Minute Rice) and a veggie you like ---

dinner's ready!

Get the Campbell's Crockpot cookbook. It has, well, a whole book of them. Beef stew is really good in a crockpot though. Potato soup too, b/c it gives enough time for the taters to get really tender. That book has entrees too, not just soup/stew.

Guiness Beef Stew- Simply take your favorite Beef Stew Recipe and add in 1 cup of Guiness Stout Beer to it in the beginning cooking stage. Mix in a pat of butter just before serving.

Yum!

Chicken and noodles - put the chicken, minced onion and chopped celery in the crock pot and cover with water, cook the chicken all afternoon, after the chicken is cooked, remove the chicken and add the noodles and let them cook in the chicken broth - very tasty.
