Different businesses have different promotional and marketing needs, so I'd check with your tax adviser. But in most cases,the expenses should be deductible:
Costs for signage on your buildings or company vehicles;
Advertising on TV, radio, or in newspapers, phone books, etc.;
Hiring of a marketing consultant or advertising agency;
Expenses involved in mailing news releases and other p.r.;
Sponsorships of local softball teams, school events, etc.;
Merchandising costs (product samplings, demonstrations, etc.);
Trade show expenses (including travel and lodging costs);
Contributions to local service clubs (such as Kiwanis), etc.;
Membership dues in Chambers of Commerce, business groups and trade associations;
Subscriptions to trade magazines and technical publications
Again, don't rely on this as "gospel" - your circumstances may be completely different. Talk to your professional tax adviser.
