Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Wilfredo Benetiz, Mathew Saad Muhammad, Marvin Hagler, Hector Camacho, Alexis Arguello, Salvador Sanchez, Wilfredo Gomez, Esubio Pedroza, Miguel Canto. There were alot of great fighters in the 1980's too many to mention. Many with diverse skills, or just plain courage but enough of it to either make them an outstanding champion. These at one time or another were my favorite fighters. Salvador Sanchez was going to move up in weight and could have been one of the greatest fighters of all time. Mathew Saad was brave and always found a way to win, just time crept up on him. Miguel Canto a brave flyweight. He not have got the respect that other fighters in the heavier divisions, but he was a worthy champion.

Dude ..Tyson become a joke after being released from prison. He was more of a side show and a circus then he was a fighter... I'll give him credit in the beginning of his career but after his prison stint he bit Holyfields ear off gets knocked out before the 3 round in most of his fights now or gets DQ ..come one he was great but now he is a joke.
Well Holyfield , and George Foreman they were stars in the 80's

Ali has always been famous, but he retired from boxing in 1981.
So, we don't care about Ken Norton, Michael Spinks, even James "Bonecrusher" Smith. (James "Buster" Douglas won it in 1990)
Even Mike didn't win the unified title until 1990.
