I can't speak for anyone else.

I'm not against "homosexuals" but I am against "homosexuality" ... meaning, quite simply, that I do not approve of the act of homosexual behavior.

I don't approve of some of my own behavior, too. So until I can get my life straightened out, I'm not really interested in putting down others

(except I do that too, and that's one of the things that I do that I wish I didn't).

One person above posted "Much of the hating today comes from homophobes, who are really repressed gays afraid to accept their sexuality openly." That's simply a load of crap. It's saying, "You don't like me because you are like me and you don't like that so you don't really like yourself" -- a very juvenile and uneducated attack.

Also, a number of homosexuals do express somewhat "odd" behavior and that is difficult for many people to accept. At times, it seems strange to me, too. Why would someone act that way on purpose? Dunno. But it does make many people uncomfortable.

Well since you put this question in religion, I am assuming by 'people' you mean Christians. Biblically, Christians can not support the gay lifestyle. But biblically they are to love the person. So people you see going around saying they hate gays are not christians no matter if they say so or not.

Now, homosexuals have always always been some of the most beloved people in the non-religious world. They have always been at the heads of fashion and taste, entertainment, and other superficial endeavers and because of that if you love the world you tend to think they are extremely cool.

But nice people come in all packages, there are murderers and theives who are very polite and nice

Here i belive i have the best answer to this.

I am not against Homosexuals, lets face it, gays can be fun loving kind and stylish people just like the rest of us!
In fact, pott heads, every kind of person is great when you really get to know them.

Have you ever had a friend, where she's doing something you disagree with like drugs lets say. Your still gonna love your friend you just don't agree with what they are doing. Thats how i am with gays.

I am not against them, i don't like their agenda.. it seems like they are always pushing their beliefs on people and now trying to influence our public schools.

As a Christian i belive marrgae was always ment for a women and man to be together and make kids.
It is unatural for men and men to be together, sex doesn't even work, and if everyone were gay there would be no new generation.

It's weird how people think it is impossible to become ungay, you never here stories of people who have become ungay and married and had kids.... because people have!

God is not against gayS!!! i just want to make that clear, God loves EVERYONE and that includes murderers and people of every religion. God simply hates sin. And in the Bible it says homosexuality is a perversity.

So please know... i just want everyone to know we are not against homosexuals.

And if i could leave you with one other thing. If some one says they are a Christian but says they hate gays, i would not belive them if i were you. You can't tell a Christain is a Christian when they simply say they are, Christians should be noticed by there actions and attitude or love for others.

(sorry if there are lots of mistakes... my spell check is having problems is what it says!)

It is not that all people are against homosexuals. IN my personal experience I just believe the way they choose to live does not go along with my belief so therefore I dont except their behavior. Although some of them are very nice they are sinning and it is a continual sin. As christains we are not supposed to judge but to express that their life style is wrong. Just like lying is a sin homosexuality is the same thing it is just instead of sinning occasionally they are sinning every minute they continue to live that way.

I think homosexuality is becoming less taboo as more people learn that it's ( mostly ) not a choice but a genetic thing. In medieval times, it was believed that homosexuality caused earthquakes. As we learn more, we learn to accept more. I'm not homosexual by the way, but I see no stigma.

Because those people are scared of anything even remotely different from what they've been told is "n.o.r.m.a.l."

People are people, no matter what race, creed, cultural influence, or whatever. We all bleed red and are created and beloved equally of the Divine. There is nothing wrong with being gay, no matter what any scaredy-cat Christians might tell you. Receive love, and give love. Anything else is minding God's business, not your own.

The church doesn't like them because they don't make baby's that grow up to tithe to the church. All the other hating came from that motive.

Much of the hating today comes from homophobes, who are really repressed gays afraid to accept their sexuality openly. They are religious types who won't want to face life as homosexuals - even if it's their preference. Because of shame and fear they repress their feelings and attack anyone who stirs those feelings of shame....shame that they want to keep hidden.

those who are against homosexuality are many times not against those who practice homosexuality (against the behavior, not the person)
