America historically has tried to keep it privatized because much of the socialized medicine all over the world provided substandard care. In the UK, a friend of mine waited an entire year for gall bladder surgery. When she was finally in the hospital, her ward had 20 people in it and only curtains between them. I think I prefer it the way it is here. I DO agree however that the US system is terribly flawed.

We do have free health care, it is called welfare. The problem is the lazy folks that use it get it free while the poor working man can't afford to have insurance, he's too busy working to pay the welfare guys bills. Definitely something that needs fixing.

Why is it that in America you have to make appointments to go see a doctor? People would be sick and dying before being allowed to see a doctor. I don't know, America just doesn't emphasize its heath care very much, don't you agree?

I don't agree grillon. You make appointments so doctors can have a schedule. But if you're sick or hurt, you just go to the emergency room and get treated right away. You just pay more.
