I posted the question below but now I have another question. :-D

A lot of people said that what I'm doing could produce serious health effects, but I was wondering what these could possibly be. Short or long term? What kind of effects?

Thanks!

I weighed about 120 but went from eating twice a day to once a day. In btwn, I drink milk and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I now weigh 112 pounds, which means that I've lost 8 pounds in two months!

I want to get to 100 or 105 pounds (I'm 5'2) but I don't know what else to do besides working out (which I can't ever do b/c I don't stick with it)! My stomach is the same and I really don't see any difference at all!

I thought that by cutting it down to one meal a day I would lose a lot of weight immediately, but it hasn't happened! Why isn't it working? What should I do besides excercise and starvation?

Thanks!

I think you have gotten to the point it is really going to be hard to get the last little bit off.
YOU HAVE DONE GREAT !!!
So stay with the veggies and fruits. Avoid banana's as they are high in calories. You should make yourself some veggie soup and eat a cup of it when your hungry. Low in calories and filling. Stink with it and it will come off. You came a long way so don't push it to far. Take it slow and it will come off.
Continue to ex cerise. I know it your not wanting to hear it is going to take time to get those last few pounds off, but hard work and dedication like you have been will prove to work !
Good luck to you :)

First of all, starvation will not work unless you don't eat at all. You metabolism slows down almost to a halt and when you get that one meal a day it will hold onto EVERYTHING instead of also getting rid of the bad things. Eat a lot actually, but eat healthy things, your doing the right thing to eat fruits and vegetables. When you eat make sure to watch the caloric intake, the carbs you consume, and sugars. You should definetly eat at least those two meals a day and HEALTHY snacks in between. Eating a lot of protein will help you too. If you don't work out the weight loss will be a lot slower. Keep in mind that unless you target the place you want to loose weight most you are going to loose an even amount all through your body. Which is why you don't see much results on your stomach. If you keep doing what you are, you will loose weight but the minute you come off this diet you are going to gain sooooo much because of how slow your metabolism is.

I am worried about you. You sound very close to, if not already there, to having an eating disorder.

You need to lose weigh gradually and not all at one. It will just return as soon as you return to normal eating habits. You should focus on creating healthy habits.

1) Instead of eating just one meal per day, eat several smaller meals. Your body needs calories and nutrient from food in order to function. Your major organs, brain, heart, need to be fed. You need protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and a bunch of vitamins and minerals.

2) Create sensible meal combinations. Such as start out with fruit in the morning, then, eat a bowl of cereal or yogurt or eggs or something to give you energy. For lunch, have a salad with meat or some other type of protein. Later for a snack, have yogurt or fruit or so type of carbohydrate. For dinner, again create a small meal. The key in all of this is to keep you meals small. Your fat cells won’t get filled if you do not stuff yourself at one meal.

3) EXERCISE! I know it is hard to maintain but do something everyday. It does not have to be an hour at the gym. It could be 15 minutes of dancing in front of the mirror to your favorite tunes, taking a fifteen-minute walk, or doing small weights for 15 minutes.

4) Drink plenty of water - at least 8 glasses per day. Water is good for the body and it keeps the bowels moving. Bowel elimination is key to weight loss.

When you exercise, you make seem like you are getting bigger but it could just be muscle. Remember, more muscle burns fat faster.

Loss weight sensibly. It won't do you any good to be thin but unhealthy looking and feeling. Good luck.

Weight loss is a very tricky thing - by eating just once a day you're actually sabotaging your metabolism because now your body thinks it's starving. It's best to eat 5 tiny meals a day rather than just eating once a day... Fruit and milk aren't enough as your body will burn through these very quickly - you need a more substantial protein. Try fish - just 4 ounces is all you need.

You are courting serious health issues if you continue with this dieting when you are already underweight.

Serious metabolic diseases such as diabetes, pancreatitis and hypothyroidism. Apart from the issues of faulty development and growth, espescially if you are pubescent. Malnourishment and serious muscle loss are also possible. If you havn't got any fat to burn you will start burning muscle.
