If I ask a serious question about the workings of their religion they don't respond.
Except for a couple of those that just hit the copy and paste on a bible tract.
But if I diss them just a little bit they answer.
They call me names and stuff but at least they answer.
Why is that?

scafool,
Part of the problem here is the format of Yahoo Answers. Question posters get attention with a provocative question and the Answer posters retort quickly. I don't like the one question / one answer format. I suppose if one wants serious answers to serious questions you would need to venture out from this format and into the blogosphere. Take up discussion with someone who seems knowledgeable on the subject. This is not just true of questions about Christianity here, but any subject.
Now if your just looking to get a charge out of people then ask the one provocative question and sit back and get the one provocative answer.

hahaha. It's a pride thing. It sucks that some won't take the time to answer a sincere question, but feel it necessary to go to bat for Jesus when his reputation is (supposedly) on the line

Dude, seriously. I'm a Christian and absolutely love answering the real questions, so if you ever want to hit me up you can contact me personally and we can totally chew the fat.

Sorry for lame Christians, people are people and don't always get things right even in their best intentions.

I could say the same for the secular world. I've asked sincere questions wanting a real response and all I got was some harsh words of anger from a bunch of presumptuous athiests and such. I didn't even affiliate myself religiously and they all assumed, or I come off that way =P. Regardless, there's all kinds my friend.

But seriously, if yo ever have a question hit me up. That sutff is fun, exchangin ideas and all that.

Later,
Levi

They don't seem to know anything about the religion they hold so dear. I've had the same experience. Serious answers only came from the non-christian side. The only thing the xtians on here know how to do is paste bible tracts or say "follow god and dont ask such questions". Like f'n robots. Brings new meaning to the phrase blind faith. So blind that they dont even know their own faith! Deaf, dumb, and blind faith as it turns out.

--edit--
omg, i forgot the ever-popular "oh yeah? prove god doesn't exist!"

many people who call themselves christians are only christians on sundays, in theory they are christians and they tell everyone that, but practically they are atheists. Being a Christian involves BEING a Christian, acting like a Christian, not just memorizing a verse or two and attending church on sundays. this question also depends on who you are asking, when, and in what context the question is presented. Theoretical Christians dont really know as much about their religion as they should, only obvious truths in the bible, like that daniel was not eaten by lions and that Jesus was born of a virgin. make sure you are asking the right people the right things.

Well I am happy you asked. You are not asking the right people. Many people here are young and immature. Many people here have no wisdom or experience. And when you ask a question here, you can expect garbage from most people because there are many Yahoo! users who are uneducated, illiterate, crass and just plain fools. I suggest that if you want a serious answer from a good Christian than you should ask a minister.

Please do no longer be insulted, possibly you experience so because you've faith in it and it truly works for you, human beings right here have questions forwhich they haven't any got here across solutions, or they were no longer given solutions even as they requested for it, each and every faith has a range of of issues that dont tournament human beings, in genuine existence in case you position forth those questions you'd be punished or killed, yet it is a communicate board the position in we are able to locate some solutions, please do no longer take something in my opinion, yet see how the author feels, this isn't about you, its about the author, properly sometims the write can't understand the way different s are able to settle for particular issues in religiion even as for some it makes no meaning,. for eg.ADam and Eve, evolution says there is not any such ingredient yet its the way organisms developed, and there is sufficient data to pass and verify, possibly they're passionately disturbed to make certain human beings mising a lot data and are prepared to trust something it is not any longer genuine purely because some holy e book says it, they experience undesirable how can one omit in genuine existence.

You're not being fair. You have a whole page full of statements against the Christian religion, but you don't say what your beliefs are. No religion can stand up under close examination.
I suspect that you're Muslim, and if you are, please don't read the koran in the same critical way that you understand the Christian bible. There are many many statements that are not anything to be proud of.

A most worthy question and one I have pondered myself!

I have given up on asking questions pertaining to Christianity as I, like you, either get a rambling sermon, bible verses that do not promote the free throughts of the answerer or a lot of venom spewed at me as to my eternity in hell (most Christian-like I thought).

My questions were not meant to be insulting, riot inducing or posted for an arguement. . . rather to educate myself further as I have a thirst for knowledge of all religions.

I love to make people think about why they belong to a religion. People that come door-to-door around my neighborhood, watch out! I actually talk to them. First of all, they don't expect this. Then I ask the really hard questions like "why does God allow suffering if he's so kind and merciful?" It's fun

I dont know why and maybe you havent talked to all of the religious people. i am a new one that has just realized that God is my leader and why do you want them to talk to you if they are rude to you. I think that there are good and bad things in all religions even my own and if they have been calling you names that is not very religious on there part i mean sorry but it isint so yeah that is my side of things bye and God be with you
