People might not think it's so weird when you're 56 and he's 66. But for a guy who's 28 dating an 18 year old then that's a little too weird. He sounds disconnected and cannot maintain a relationship with a woman his own age or he likes the control factor of having someone much younger. Whether you realize it or not guys who date much younger women do this because the women have a tendency of not knowing what they want out of life and lack the maturity that older women have.

He's NOT a pedophile. Anyone who looks at history will see this.
Pedophilia deals with CHILDREN, not teenagers. Some may see this as splitting hairs, but 16 is VERY different than 9.
If you were 9, and he was 54, That would be a pedophile.
As for him being 26, Why would ANY 26 year old MAN want to date a 16 year old girl? They don't even know who they are yet at 16. You are going to change SO MUCH in the next 5-10 years. I know I wasn't the same person at 16 as i am now at 25. A relationship like that can't last unless the "man" is brainwashing the girl. Stick to boys your own age. They're stupid, but no offense so is everyone at 16.

The older you get, the less the age difference means. The question is how old is old enough? My wife is ten years younger than me. We got married when she was 27 and have been married 19 years now. Its great.
However, at 16 and 26 the age difference is significant. How long can\will you both wait?
In five years you will be 21, which is still pretty young to be getting married.
You are choosing a difficult path and there are many that will discourage you.

This is a interesting question...
My answer is this...It all depends on how he treats you and what he wants or expects out of you...Some guys are perverts and brainwashers...But there are a few guys that have a harder time getting women to like them.Maybe not so much as in looks or personality but maybe because of shyness.I would take things real slow and see how he treats ya..Look into patterns and pay attention to his mood swings.If a guy really likes a girl on the inside of his heart he would not do anything to hurt her.

no, it's not a good thing. What would interest a 26 year old man in a 16 year old is that he can control her and manipulate her because she doesn't know any better.

As long as nothing happens till you're legal it's all good, I'd recomend dating someone your own age until then though.
