When will people realize that a sentence like "Will there ever be a day when in America an atheist can admit to his BELIEFS..." is nonsensical?

I do it almsot every day on this forum. I manage it, I think, because I treat every question I choose to answer with the serious, respectful attitude I expect.

I don't challenge someone with, "Why don't you Christians ....!" or "Why don't you Muslims .....!"

I also have some relegious training and upbringing, so I feel I can offer answers to questions about someone's own faith. I've studied the bible in my youth and have legitimate answers to offer.

Click on my profile, read the kinds of questions I answer, and then, look at my stats. 13% best answers should give you a clue about what I am trying to do at Yahoo Answers.

I have a dream that someday my (yet to be born) children will not be judged by which imaginary gods they don't believe in, but by the content of their character.

In all honesty, Europe is decades ahead of us in that regard. It is largely secular, and quite nonreligious. I can only hope that the religious insurgence of the last two decades here is only a hiccup on the way to a similar society.

Please, you have the ACLU working round the clock to make it illegal to believ in God. It is just as bad when you proclaim that you are Christian sometimes. I am a former atheist turned Christian and I can not believe the crap that comes from both sides.

probably so...however, that's what so beautiful about this life...the freedom of choice...i think you'll find that that's how God intended it....and perhaps before i met God i might have wondered if he exists...but now there's not a doubt in my shallow mind that He exists...once again that's the beauty of it...he leaves it up to us to choose to believe or not to believe...i wish i could show him to you because then you would believe...

if you've admitted it (in a roundabout way) just now,
I don't think you're being ostracized! :)
