Wow, there are so many good choices out there, I always have trouble picking the 'best' of the best!
The solution is to see if you can "borrow" someone else's (used) materials and try them before you buy. I can't tell you how much I've spent on things I thought would be perfect only to get them in use and find they really aren't working. And something that works really well for one of my boys almost inevitably won't work with the other!
No one can tell you what will and won't work for you and your family - it depends entirely on the individual student, the teacher, and the family dynamics.

K12 was founded by the crook, Michael Milliken and the hypocrite Bill Bennett. I wouldn't give any money to that crew.
Unschooling is absolutely the best way to go. It is free, it is completely tailored to your children, and it produces incredible results.

Have you looked into Sonlight? They're very good, give you a detailed plan telling you what to do each day... The price depends on how much of the program you decide to use.

Every child has a different learning style. So shop around and share with your kids some of the material out there to see how they enjoy it. Calvert Academy has an excellent curriculum, just a little pricey.....................
