lately i have been thinking about my faith. Atheism is the absence of faith. But i do have faith. Just not in god. Or the bible. I have faith in other things.
I believe in the after life just not heaven or hell.
I believe in i know it sounds weird but i believe in magic. The supernatural if u must. I don't think that magic is the devil's work. I believe that magic makes miracles.
So my question is if i am not an athiest what am i? Do i have a label. Because i was reading this book and it talked about faith. And i started thinking. I can't an atheist if i have faith right?

You are an atheist. Atheism is the lack of belief in any gods. As long as you don't believe in any gods, you are an atheist. One atheist might be a materialist, as I am, thinking that there is only the natural world. Another might believe in the supernatural. No matter what else you happen to believe in- if you don't believe in any gods then you are an atheist. You aren't a typical atheist. Some atheists might feel uncomfortable knowing that there are atheists like you. But to heck with them. Anyone who doesn't believe in any gods is an atheist and there's no other qualification required.

Now, you are also other things. For instance, I'm an atheist, an agnostic and a humanist among other philisophical leanings.
You might be, say a spiritualist as well as an atheist. The problem with that word is that it's associated too much with some charlatans who pretend that they communicate with the dead.
I'd say the easiest description for your particular stance on faith would be New Age Atheist. You believe in many of the things that the New Age movement embraces, but not the god part. So if you want a title for your views that people might readily understand and, at the same time will intrigue (and sometimes anger) them, I'd opt for New Age Atheist. Prepare to do some explaining, but don't let them tell you you can't believe in the supernatural and still be an atheist, they are simply wrong.

Atheism is not believing in a higher being. It is not the absence of faith. I guess technically you could call yourself an atheist.

Just don't get caught up in "atheist" teachings. Some mean well, but some are there to lead you down the wrong path. It is all about intent.

I just feel I should share with you that Satan doesn't care if you believe in him, he just doesn't want you to believe in God. Don't take up with Satanists or ever take his symbol (the triple sixes) upon yourself. And do me a favor, if thousands of people disappear all of a sudden from the face of the earth, pick up a bible and start reading. Start with the book of Matthew.

You are not nearly as 'weird' as you think. Jesus performed miracles, and healed and told us we could do the same things. I am a lot like you, man's interpretation of God does not fit me well, and it's not necessarily "magic' it's your sixth sense. They even have colleges now that people can go to in order to develop their sixth sense. Edgar Cayee was very famous with the supernatural and he read the Bible through, cover to cover once every year. No the supernatural and having the ability to use your sixth sense is not evil, in fact our churches SHOULD be performing miracles. Society has labeled it as evil, because none of the preachers, pastors, priests, etc., can do it. They have the 'calling' to spread the word, and to have a 'psychic' connection with God, I think they just get upset that they can't do other things like healings. Personally I think our sixth sense is like anything else, some people can sing, some people sound terrible when they sing, some are good at one thing, others are good in other areas.
Jesus told us to 'doubt' and to seek the 'truth' for ourselves, seek the truth, no matter what others say.

Atheism isn't the absence of faith, but the absence of faith in a God.

You don't need a label, but there are many beliefs and belief systems out there you should explore. For me, in the end I didn't want someone to tell me what I should and shouldn't believe, so I chose not to associate with any religion.

Atheism is a big tent. a= without, theos= god(s)

Atheist just means someone doesn't believe in supernatural beings that are essentially kings or queens or absolute rulers. It doesn't necessarily exclude belief in the supernatural. Someone who doesn't believe in the supernatural had a 'naturalistic philosophy'.

Non theistic super-naturalist, is the description I'd use. Although attaching a label to yourself seems like a handy means for detractors to attach negativity to.

Atheism doesn't mean that you don't have faith. It simply means that you don't believe in the presence of a God figure/s. An agnostic is one who believes that nothing can really be known about the true character of God... You can just place yourself where you think you should be.

You can have faith in things and still be an atheist. All atheist means is that you know god doesn't exist. That's it, period. Believe anything else you want, as long as you know that god is pretend you're still right calling yourself an atheist.

Atheism and faith don't technically have anything to do with each other. Atheism by definition is disbelief in a diety. I'm an atheist but I believe in reincarnation. You can be whatever you want.

Atheism has to do with 'belief'... not 'faith'. faith is a source, or a justification, for belief. Belief is a certainty of the 'truth' of something. Atheists find no basis (read 'evidence') to justify belief in a diety.

Why don't you Google for 'freethinker'?

Wiccan?

Atheist is not lack of faith, it is belief there in NO GOD of any kind. your only an atheist if you believe in no God. It sounds like Wicca may be a path you'd enjoy. And it is not devils work or satanic.
