I think instinctively most animals are, otherwise they wouldn't last very long. I've had many cats in my life. Sometimes...and it doesn't matter where it is...my cat will walk around or take a different path, other than what you would think it would do. For example, he might be walking along the floor, and then suddenly decide to walk against the wall. Or he might be on the lawn, and decide to walk on rocks and then back on the grass. I'm sure he must sense a smell or something, but for the life of me, I don't know what makes him change his course. It's comical sometimes, and I wish I could read his mind and see why he does things like that. But that's why cats are so special to me!

My 11 year old ragdoll is very skeptical. Especially if it's a new food she's trying. She is also skeptical about my other 4 year old cat ever doing something that isn't weird. Not to mention she rolls her eyes when he does something stupid. The 4 year old cat trusts anything and everything we do. They are complete opposites.

My 11 year old, female, seal point siamese cat is definitely skeptical of new people. She is the kind of cat that has to approach you. Princess doesn't want you to get to know her first. She has to make sure that you are ok. Once she gets to know you then everything is ok. Of course, she won't let you pick her up. Like I mentioned before, you have to let her come to you.

My 12 year old male cat, Spiffy, is more sociable and would most likely be the first cat to introduce himself to you. Spiffy will like you as long as you are good to him and will let him persuade you into giving him kitty treats. He'll let you pick him up or he'll come to you.

Yeah mine is scared to go outside. He can sit directly in front of the door outside but the door has to be left wide open, if it's cracked he gets nervous and claws his way in the house and under the bed.

Both of mine are. Every time I feed them they're suspicious of the food!
