It's part of human nature. Awful isn't it? Just one of our many flaws. I'm judgmental about hypocrisy, bondages, lies, perverts, geesh, don't get me on a roll!

I suppose that when other individuals explore life
in ways we view to be outside of our personal
guidelines, we may notice a defensive reaction being
ignited within ourselves.

Individuals exploring the purity of free will can be
difficult to accept. When someone chooses differently
than we do. Especially in areas we hold strong beliefs
of right and wrong, we can have a strong emotional
reaction to their being so different. We may find
ourselves being quite judgmental of what they have done.

I suppose it's possible that there is no greater
compliment to offer another than to accept that person
exactly as they are without trying to change them. Of
course, I'm referring to a definition of acceptance as
an allowance of the others' difference without having to
like the difference. I don't believe in forcing yourself
to like anything or anyone, just the acceptance that not
everyone would be comfortable exploring life exactly as
we are choosing to do.

I like the way you think. I am judgemental toward selfish people. I believe with all of the wealth in the world, no child should ever go hungry or homeless.

Basically it comes down to perception of a situation or argument.

we are all different we Will and can see a different view even if we agree with the point.

I have found myself many times on this site agreeing with the sentiments of a question and maybe the first few answers but then someone will say something that will send me thinking in another way.

i will suddenly become a judge on views i previously believed in and will go in another direction.

It is not that i no longer agree with them in principal but another side of the argument has been presented and it is that at that time (depending on my frame of mind at the time) that i go with altering my view.

This is called learning

Those with closed minds who are not open to other opinions are called ???????????

I am intolerant over others being completely disrespectful towards others, and annoyed when people get their "jollies" by intentionally trying to hurt others.

I am also conscious of the difference between being "Judgemental" and being "Discerning"...

i wonder how many others are?

I can't be-LIEVE you wrote judgmental with 2 "e"s!! OMG!!!!!

lol j/k

it's because people don't know what it means to be comfortable with themselves, but think that others get life "wrong" Slavoj Zizek even developed a theory called "theft of enjoyment" to explain this behavior from an ideological level.

Fear. People see other people enjoying and truly loving their choices and they are afraid they will never experience that type of joy and contentment in anything. Therefore they want to do what they can, even if they don't realize it, to erode that joy, in order to feel that they are not missing out on anything.
